Nice to see Dougie so confident with his shot. Still lots of work to do in order for him to be a complete NBA player but he's making progress scoring wise. Is he good enough for it to make much of a difference re: winning a NBA title? That was a terrible Nets team. They should not charge full price when that is the opponent.
I think McDermott will become a competent defender...he seems willing and has enough athleticism. He's beginning to show a NBA version of his college offensive game and I'm having fun watching it. Will his development make a difference in making the Bulls a contending team? Can't hurt. Agree that beating the Nets at home, even without a legit center, shouldn't make any of us giddy.
Yeah, we're seeing way more of Creighton Doug than I ever thought we would 3 months ago. The next test is seeing how well he can sustain it in the playoffs when teams are focusing on him.
One note on McDermott. I've read a lot about all that the Bulls gave up for McDermott, specifically, they could have had Gary Harris and Jusuf Nurkic. Fair enough. However, McDermott has just scored 20+ points in 3 consecutive games. From a quick look I just took, it appears that, of the 10 players taken before McDermott in the 2014 draft, only Andrew Wiggins, the #1 overall pick, has pulled off the 20 x 3 accomplishment...and he's the #1 offensive option on a team with no chance at the playoffs. I only raise this as an argument against those who have been loudly proclaiming that McDermott is a bust. Though the Bulls may have been better off by taking Harris and Nurkic, he looks like one of the better players taken in that draft.
He looks like he might be one of the best scorers in the draft, but it remains to be seen if he can be more than a specialist. His offensive prowess these last 3 games has been impressive but it's not enough for me to remove that label from him just yet. The tricky thing about Doug's game is that its effectiveness will always have a few more degrees of freedom than a generic 2-way guy like Rodney Hood or Gary Harris, so his success is sensitive to fit. That said, I'm surprised how much of Creighton Doug we've seen the last 3 games.........I didn't think his ceiling would be this high 3 months ago. Keep it up Doug!

3 good games in a lost season for an irrelevant team does not remove the bust status. Right now his PER is 11.1. And he's a scorer. Its a big leap to consistently performing, learning how to play defense and create for others / rebound and then performing in the playoffs as a key guy for a title contender. He had a nice scoring game against that putrid Nets team the other night, that's for sure. And in the game they lost by 20+ to the Wiz. And the meaningful road win against the Raptors. Over the last 3 games he has a total of 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. He also has 0 turnovers.
You must really hate DRose...his PER is only 13.6 and he averages 18 shots per 36 minutes (highest on the team).
Not a fan of Rose's current play or contract at all. He at least has a track record though and I remember him leading the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals and winning a MVP for the squad. The high point pretty much of being a Bulls fan since MJ retired for the most part. I kind of gave up on him getting back to elite status before you finally admitted to doing so though. McDermott on the other hand has done nothing meaningful other than be a bad to below average NBA basketball player.
