I've already said in other threads that we should give Larry Sanders a chance. IMHO we shouldn't bring in anybody who can't play D. We have enough offense. This team is 6th in the league in points scored.
You are correct. I wouldn't want to pay Anderson the max. As I said Parsons is by far the best of the 3. I didn't say I wouldn't pay him the max, I simply asked the question is he worth it. Probably 20 per, not 25.
I agree. I'd rather go after Batum any day of the week. He's a capable outside scorer with defensive and ball handling ability.
And there you have it! I would much rather Max out Nicolas Batum than Chandler Parsons or Ryan Anderson.
I'd certainly sign Parsons. I'm not interested in Anderson; I don't think you can build a contending defense with him and Dame starting. He will cost $15-20+ million a season. He has injury history too. He's just not a long term fit for the core of our team. On a team with a stud defensive guard who has a shaky jumper he will be far more effective. Meyers I'd keep for an affordable backup price but anything more and let him walk. He shouldn't be mentioned with near max starters; adding one has no impact on the other.
I don't see any way Batum leaves Charlotte. They are desperate to keep him and will give him that 5th year which will make his contract over $158 million. No way he walks away from that.
One nice thing about Parsons; he's still only eligible for the rookie extension max. So a max for him is $98 million over 4 years while for Batum/Anderson its $117 million over 4 years. That's a difference of $29 vs $24 million per year.
I think there are like 8 players in the whole NBA worth true max personally so you are asking the wrong guy. If you don't pay it you don't get a player though. And Parsons' max is less than a lot of other players so that is nice.
Parsons would never come to Portland, he's too Hollywood. Get Derozan and Larry Sanders. Let Leonard go.
Yeah, I actually think batum would take less to come back. But why would Olshey want him back? He traded him for a reason
Not a chance Nic wants to come back to Portland.I think he enjoyed his time here, but that is now all water under the bridge.
If he enjoyed his time in Portland, why wouldn't he come back? I'm European and all of us love comfort. It's why a lot of euros go back instead of staying in the league. Batum was comfortable in Portland. I think he'd come back in a second.
