Hey @Fonzthecpt1 and @Schilly , one of you won the ticket. Help me figure out which one of you get the ticket.
I think they will finally 5! Haha in all seriousness I think them vs. Duke is a coin flip. They'd be favored vs Texas A&M who got lucky to get into the Sweet 16. However I don't think they can defend Oklahoma and that would be the toughest matchup for them out of the teams remaining.
Watching March Madness really make me wish there was a bigger college football playoff. Imagine if there was an 18 team college football playoff... Each conference winner got in, the bottom 4 conference winners would play a playin for the 8th seed in both regions (there's 2 regions). There would be 8 first round games played on the weekend before Christmas at regional sites. Play two games on a Friday night and then 6 on Saturday that start at noon, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10pm (ET). In the Elite 8, have the 4 games be all the BCS bowls (Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl) with 2 on New Years Eve and 2 on New Years Day. The top seeded Pac 12 school would play the Rose Bowl, and other historic correlations could be covered. The Final 4 and championship would be at the Championship site. People would fill out brackets for that, and it would create a ton of entertaining playoff football. It would keep many teams in the race, as if you still have a chance at your conference championship, you'd still have a chance at the playoffs. That being said, it would still place a big premium on the regular season, as there's only 8 at large teams and seeding would matter. Yes it would be 4 playoff games for the top 2 teams, which is a lot, but it's only 2 teams and 2 more games with 2 week layoffs in between won't be that big of deal in my opinion. Two more would have to play 3, but the layoff is enough. 1 to 2 more games wouldn't matter at all. It would also bring in extra revenue for schools and the NCAA if you wanna think corporate. I'm hoping that this is a reality in the next 10 years.
Looking forward to watching Sabonis play again tonight. Who ever said he's been the highlight of the tournament in the other thread was spot on. In fact 1 mock (NBAdraft.net) has already put Sabonis above Poeltl (Sabonis 9 to Raptors, Poeltl 11 to Bucks)
