I can say with 100% certainty that I have reffed games for 2 years about 4 years ago. I fucking sucked.
These are personal attacks? Wow... thin skin around here then.... Anyhow.. I stated why I was so rough. These were all directed at one person....Don't take it personal. Yeah, its frustrating to continue to read someone who keeps saying the same thing when they are wrong about the rules of the situation. Pretty much the same as im sure it was frustrating for some of you to read my posts responding to these posts... Again though, if these were personal attacks, then wow. I apologize.. Didn't think they were....Thought I was just getting abrasive with someone who would not listen to reason.
Ask anyone if I give a shit about personal attacks. If you don't know what one is I feel for you. Then, use the excuse that it is only against one person. Whatever dude, I'm not worried about it. People have this thing we call opinions. What you may think the rules are has no bearing on what I think. I think you probably need meds, that is just my opinion after reading your posts. It doesn't mean you have to get them although I suspect you've either been on them or been encouraged to. It doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you someone who I skip over when I read this forum. It sounded like you are on ignore from a few people and while I personally haven't put anyone on ignore very often it should be a hint that you're putting people off.
uhhh, okay. Ill say this. The only judgement I make of anyone here is based off their posts and with regards to the Blazers... not their personal life. I've never spoke with anyone here on a personal level in person, so I would not want to assume I know them or their state of mind. Posts can often be misconstrued because you cant see facial expressions, hear tone of voice, etc, but if you think you know me well enough to make those types of assumptions based on this forum... Your not very smart....but you are 100% right in being entitled to your opinion, whether your right or wrong. And everyone else has 100% right to comment on your opinion when you make your opinion public....again... two sides to every coin. So your right... whatever dude... im not worried about it...
Right.... Anyone who actually thinks they know someone personally based off of forum posts, is not very smart... sigh all you want.. consider it a personal insult , I don't give a shit... Become grammar police to avoid the base of the post... again... I don't give a shit... I said my peace and I explained why I was an asshole. I apologized for it. But now I see you doing the same thing your ragging on me for.. Being annoying....
I really didn't want to keep this going but read your two posts over and over until you realize that you contradict yourself completely. One of the most admirable qualities I find in people is when they realize they're wrong and man up to it. It is just really rare.
You pretty much lost me. I'm not sure how I contradict myself unless your saying when I say you cant judge off of forum posts, but then I say your not smart if doing so, meaning im judging the person doing so? Kinda confused me there. Listen, I don't want to keep this going either unless its in private. I took Yuyuza to private. The forum isn't getting anything out of this, so no point in keeping it public. I'm just sorry I failed at trying to make my point and it backfired... other than that, this is all small potatoes and I learned my lesson and have moved on.
You care about this shit way too much. Really don't feel like talking anything out, whether in private or otherwise.
Not at all. I've just read a bunch of his posts about how shitty and negative this forum is. Sure doesn't seem to be trying to lighten things up. I don't wanna keep this going and I certainly don't want to take it private. I've been trying to be nice for the most part.
The last time I put someone on ignore was Mags just because of always seeing Its Bananas or whatever it was. That was only for a few days if I remember right. No need for that here, I can do it mentally
I thought my hyperbolic statement was an obvious joke. I am totally with you on the difficulty aspect and the time it takes for the game to slow down. You sell athletes who play the sports short, however. We are schooled on the rules when we are provided with proper coaching. I'm reminded of this umpire I had in HS who I knew because my friend's dad schooled with him at umpiring school. When I played, the MLB was going through its steroid era and the offensive numbers being put up were like nothing ever seen. There began a trend with certain types of pitchers, namely Greg Maddux, who could work off the plate with consistency. MLB umpires began giving strikes to pitchers who could regularly paint the black within six or so inches. Some umpires went even further and in recurring cases they would consistently call strikes when the pitch was a foot off the plate. Well, this umpire that I knew, he liked to think he was a MLB umpire. He went to the MLB umpiring academy and everything. He wore really nice gear; he took his profession so very seriously. Yet, the rule book clearly defines what the strike zone is. It's actually not a strike when it's off the black. It's not a strike when it's a foot off the plate. As a player I knew this but this professional umpire I had to play with didn't seem to be aware of it. He didn't seem to be aware at all that a hitter can do very little with a pitch a foot off the plate. He was hot shit though. I'm just glad he knew the rules because he was not an athlete and, therefore , free from bias or ignorance. No, there are umpires and referees who call the game according to their own interpretation or misunderstanding of the rules, as there are referees who do show bias towards or against certain players or teams. In a lot of instances it is just plain ignorance, but truly, when it's so willful and obvious, I do at some level find myself disgusted toward their humanity. Not all of them, of course.
I refereed for 13 years at a very high level locally. I'm not selling any athletes short. They simply don't know the rules and that's true. I have to explain rules all game because the players and coaches just don't know them. I'm not telling anyone sure I'm simply talking about my experience of refereeing 400+ basketball games every year. How are you going to be coached to know the rules when most coaches don't know the rules unless they've refereed? Case in point: coaches still tell the kids to step on the sideline while using it as a Defender. Well, if you step on the sideline and your foot is out of bounds, you are not a legal Defender. So, even if you do have complete position and you are mowed over, it is a blocking foul because you're not a legal Defender because you must be in bounds to be considered legal. That's just one of the many rules that people simply don't know. And if you say you knew that rule, then I just simply don't believe you.
