<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>New York Post - With the Chris Webber buy-out situation still unsolved in Philadelphia, another former-high profile star is in talks for a possible buy-out.A source claims the Knicks and Steve Francis - exiled to Houston supposedly to rehab a tender knee - are discussing a contract buyout; what remains of this season's $15 million salary and the next two, $16.44M and $17.8M.This divorce, if it occurs, has been a long time coming for Francis and the Knicks. Steve is a virtual clone of the more tenured Stephon Marbury, and never really fit into the Knicks' system. Rumor has it that Francis may even be headed to Philadelphia.</div>New York PostObviously it is just a rumor, however I really do not want Billy King and/or Larry Brown to bring in Steve Francis. When we traded Iverson we basically said that we were going to blow up this operation and start from scratch by developing our young players and bringing in players through free agency and the draft. Also, with the Webber buyout we are clearing cap space... why use it on Francis? Steve Francis is a poor man's Iverson, and if we couldn't get it done with Iverson, what makes them think we are better off with Francis, especially in the rebuilding phase.

My thoughts exactly. I said the same thing in the other thread in General NBA. Why spend money on a poor man's Iverson, who happens to be on the decline, injured, and a terrible teammate... and during a rebuilding phase, in which you have three 1st round picks this year (in a very deep draft). I see zero sense in this, if it even does go down.

It makes absolutely no sense when we are in the rebuilding process to get a poor mans Iverson when we knew it wasn't going to work with him.I don't get it!

This looks especially stupid when, if they get Francis, would most likely deal away Miller too. That'd be an insanely stupid move.

I think looking at this at a bigger picture, it's more beneficial for the Sixers in the future. This is of course, if Francis only signs a deal for one year at the min. That's the perfect scenario. Otherwise it's a waste.

And he is still one of the good PG's in the NBA so I think we can.But Yeah if we get Francis I will be very very p*ssed. I am already not happy about the AI move as a season ticket holder I am done after this season since this season I had tickets already for the season. I can't believe I paid to watch AI when I knew this gm could not be trusted. Now I am left watching this mess of a team. I am done no more season tickets until Billy King is gone.

Don't really have to worry about it, Isiah already denied him buying out Francis' contract.

I don't get it? Francis and Miller? This seems pointless...who the hell came up with this rumor NY Post? Also Francis is injured right now, he's rehabbing his foot in Houston. Also on a side note, how about the downfall of Steve Francis? Stevie Franchise my ass.

Mo Cheeks said Webber will stay part of the team in practice right before they bought him out the coach was asked about it. What they say don't mean they are saying the truth. And (blitzburgh55) I agree we should tank, and pray. lolAlso I think Miller will be traded by the deadline. I actually think BK promised him to send him to a contender before the trade deadline.
