Major League Baseball will starts on April 3rd. Anyone looking forward to the season, going to Seattle to see the Mariners games?
thanks for reminding me to turn off sports radio in my car and listen to music on the way to and from work.
Huge Yankee fan but I hate the Mariners. Just another mediocre Shittle team pumped into our market, ad nauseum. Had three of the greatest players in baseball history and couldnt sign a single one.
Baseball is just so damn boring. The only baseball I really am interested in watching is the college baseball playoffs when oregon state makes it.
If the Yankees make it through the season without the starting pitching falling apart we might do okay. But there are jut too many question marks. Hal Steinbrenner is obsessed with resetting the payroll. And screwing over the fans, apparently.
Yes, it is the truth! Go Giants!!! I love the Blazers dearly, but baseball was dominant long before they came to Portland. And c'mon, is there really anything better than sitting in the stands on a beautiful day, beer in one hand and a hot dog in the other?? Of course, it's always better when your favorite team is awesome. Baseball also fills a void if your basketball team doesn't makes the playoffs.....or gets bounced early. I'm loving the fact that baseball season is almost here. It says we made it through another Winter.....
I'm a fan of good baseball. Something just feels patriotic about going to a ball game. I loved the Beavers baseball team and used to go see the Ems play in Eugene. At work, my client is a die hard Mariners fan so I'm going to see a lot of their games..he watched them beat the Cubs last night...preseason..lot of errors. If I lived in Portland again, I'd join a softball team just for fun. Nothing like a full count, bases loaded, bottom of the ninth great pitcher facing a homerun smacker...baseball is a great chess match if you understand it. Take me out to the ball game!
Yes, sir! Barring injuries, I expect these guys will be in it 'til the end. Going to catch two Giants games in San Diego in May.
I'd rather watch a preseason NBA game with the Nets playing the Magic than game 7 of the world series. "America's Pastime" my ass! Don't even watch SportsCenter after the NBA draft til college football starts.
I'd bet you'd make a great groundskeeper at some minor league park, FAMS! And you could probably work out a trade - your work for stadium polish dogs!
I heard they're taking out several seats along the third base line to accommodate the third baseman. So, hopefully your seats are elsewhere.
What they need to do is put a 20 second time limit on the batter and pitcher and limit the timeouts each batter gets to 1. This would move the game along a lot faster.
I like baseball, but I wouldn't say that I'm looking forward to the season. I used to watch the Mariners pretty regularly, but lost interest years ago.
