The second game of the sec season for both teams, this is looking good to begin with. Florida is playing ok right now, up 8-4, but should be beating this team even worse. We are playing good defense right now, not allowing many open shots, minus a fast break attempt. Offensively we are not playing the best, and could be doing alot better. Green has something with that high pick and roll that him and Noah like to run that he is not liking. Noah has tried to set that pick two or three times, and Green stepped back and never used the screens. Green proved he can beat his man on the baseline, I would look to get him the ball near the baseline and let him use that more often to exploit an obviously weak side for his defender and get a few open shots. There is alot of basketball left, I guess we will see what happens throughout the game. I'm hoping the Gators keep up their strong defensive pressure, and get a bit better on offense.Defensive rebounding is not the greatest right now either though. We need to box out more on the defensive end for this game.
So at half-time the score is currently 37-36 the Gators are barely winning, in what could have been a much better half, it was very dissapointing. The offense isn't clicking the best right now at all, but I expect that to get better the second half as Noah and Horford come back from foul trouble in the first half. Both played limited time because of that foul trouble in the first half. That does not excuse the Gators playing slow, not getting back on defense in transition a few times, and not hustling down the court. That last couple of minutes was just terrible. This a very good, very capable, and very scrappy Arkansas team. If we keep playing like they are going to roll over and let Florida win because of Florida's name, they are completely mistaken.
I saw the game, many players were in fall trouble and Florida wasn't really playing too well allowing Arkansas to keep in the game. Joakim Noah had a mediocre night, but I like what I saw out of Brewer. I thought it was a pretty boring game personally. Florida took the game by like 9 or somn, can't remember score.
I watched the second half. Arkansas has a lot of quick athletes, Florida was not playing really tough...like you said it was a boring game...I love the passion Gators fans have...what a crowd. Corey Brewer looked good finishing at the basket and Al Horford was pretty solid, he's such an underrated player nationally. Lee Hump hit a bunch of big shots near the end. What a shooter.
