...anyone else seen it? ...me and the wife watched a DVD I made of it last night...I thought it was pretty good...you can definitely tell it's a Tarrantino film...very long (2:45 minutes)...very graphic...very bloody.
I was waiting for someone to give it a review, I'll have to check it out the next time my video girl comes around.
...Rick, like I said, it's a Tarantino movie and as like some of his other stuff in which you must watch it straight through or pause if/when you leave the room, otherwise you'll be lost because there's a lot going back and forth from the past and then fast forwarding again to the present again.
Was "No country for old men" his movie or was that the Coen brothers because I thought that flick sucked.
not yet, but its on my list of things to see & do ... Looks like one of Tarrantino's better films, and a Western at that.... I found one long very in depth synopsis of this film, on imdb.com, the URL to that is noted below the Trailer, for those who haven't seen it...it definitely sounds and looks really good. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3460252/synopsis?ref_=tt_stry_pl
"We're the Bastards" - "your status as a Nat-zee killer is still amateur, we came here to see if you wanted to go Pro". "We ain't in the prisoner taking business, we in the killing Nat-Zee business"... Inglourious Basterds one of my favs...
If I remember correctly there was either a lot of sub titles or just a great deal of the movie is spoken in German.
IB: It's probably my favorite Tarrantino flick, yeah some German sub-titles, use CC and you'll get the translation..... One helluva great flick .... can't go wrong watching it...
I saw the 70mm Ultra Panavision Roadshow Edition. It was spectacular! I haven't seen a movie with an intermission since I was a little kid. Not my favorite Tarantino movie but it was very good. Jennifer Jason Leigh should have gotten the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
(chuckle), I should of said 'closed captions' in lieu of CC...but yeah, we do have our own version in the Bronx...
Wow, I had no clue they held a "roadshow" prior to Xmas.... Love the nostalgia of "roadshows", wonder if they served Cheetos, and Crumpets and a spot of Tea.... Yep, Leigh did a great job, worthy of BSA...Pitt was in his own league, a lot like Mickey O'Neill in "Snatch", only diff, a southern boy's dialect in lieu of an Irish Gypsy...
Nah Tom, I have a video girl that comes around to the VFW from time to time, I got it from her. Around 9 PM last night I popped the movie in & was reading the cover when I saw that it was 182 minutes so I thought, "MIDNIGHT" No way, so I'll watch it later today.
No bites on the 'Inglourious Basterds'? Because We have our own "Inglorious Bastards" right here and in de Bronx....shucks..."its a terrible thing to lose"..... "Oh, rollin' and ridin' and slippin' and slidin' It's magic"....
