So the Bulls actual probable starters are who? Moore, Butler, Dunleavy, Portis and Gasol? Though injuries are part of the game, bullsger's probable starters, who are arguably the Bulls 5 best players, have been on the floor together for a total of 93 minutes this season. Christ, that ain't even 3 games.
"We have enough" was always the mantra in the past. Now injuries are an excuse for losing regular season games. The team is much worse than it was under Thibs.
You're right, of course, but the team wasn't good enough under Thibodeau...it was good vs mediocre. The decision to fire Thibodeau can be right and the decision to hire Hoiberg can be wrong. Your narrative doesn't seem to allow for this. The current Bulls roster seems to ignore Hoiberg's coaching. The team needs new players or a new head coach. If the team decides that it needs a new head coach, someone needs to be held accountable for the Hoiberg decision.
Hoiberg's coaching has taken the 3 seed in the East to a team that is currently 2 games out of making the playoffs. That was one of the great things about Thibs and a prerequisite for a great NBA coach. The players play hard for him and it results in wins. The Bulls under Thibs did as well as could possibly be expected based on the talent he was given and that they were going up against Lebron. We're currently seeing what last year's talent looks like with an average to bad NBA coach. Going forward, without Thibs, we've seen little to indicate that Paxson has any clue about heading up an elite NBA organization in terms of contending for an NBA title. A sad state of affairs for Bulls fans. Grim days again. Thanks GarPax. Talent reigns in the NBA. Either blow it up or get a coach like Thibs (easier said than done of course) that can maximize the talents he's given. Right now the only really elite player we have is Butler. Of course, its going to take some cagey moves and trades to build around Butler. Once again, not the strong suit of a Paxson led organization.
