http://www.mmafighting.com/2016/4/4...-usada-reach-settlement-on-shorter-suspension It appears as though Yoel Romero and the United States Anti-Doping Agency have reached a settlement. According to sources close to the situation, the two sides have settled on a suspension that will be less than nine months long from the time it was announced that Romero had a "potential Anti-Doping policy" violation in early January following his win over Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza in December. Two weeks ago, it was reported that Romero was going to appeal the two-year suspension suggested by USADA, however, according to sources, both sides were recently able to avoid the arbitration hearing by settling beforehand. Romero would have been the first UFC fighter to appeal a USADA suspension. well I guess that's good news. I'd like to believe most fighters want to fight clean and I'd rather see all of these guys get clean results and continue to fight rather than root for them to be suspended for cheating.
He was never going to have his suspension overturned. Even if you take a tainted supplement you are still responsible for what you ingest. Still, I hope this is an outlier rather than a precedent.
For the record, Romero is planning legal action against the supplement company that caused his drug test failure. In related news, OJ Simpson is still searching for the real killer.
