Not quite. S2 was here for a year or so before the exodus from BBF. As I remember it, BBF had really strict rules and a lot of confrontation between staff and posters. S2 was meant to be the opposite: as few rules as possible and avoid confrontation between staff and posters. Also, I remember some L*kers global mod came into the Blazers forum and did several things to piss everyone off. Like HCP said in his initial post, they took issue with him asking "name your all-time white team." ABM is a great guy. Where did he go?
True. One of the problems on BBF was the powers there gave mod privileges to a group of teenagers who loved the power and greatly abused it. They went nuts and all the adults left. ABM was the one who pointed me here too.
Likewise. I have enjoyed your presence on this board and BBF for quite some time. It was great actually meeting you. It was nice to find out that all the things they say about you aren't necessarily true.
We know. Again, this is why I wonder how you haven't developed some sort of debilitating condition in your "pitching" arm/hand.
Same here, kind of (except for the Mrs. HCP part - it was ABM who sent me a PM telling me of the new home at S2). Started as TraderBoob on the old ESPN board, back when it used to be worth a shit, probably around 2002. Then migrated to bbb, which became bbf. Was still TraderBoob for a time, eventually changed my name to Boob-No-More after the 2006 draft. After John Nash, it just didn't seem fair/justified to single out Bob Whitsitt as the only boob of a GM we'd had in recent memory. Hadn't posted for a month or two, it was the off season and our roster was set, so didn't figure I'd missed much. When ABM sent me the PM about S2, I went back and read the thread where the prepubescent Laker mods basically took over the Blazers forum, shut down the OT section and were banning long-time posters left, right and center. Two words, Laker mods, were enough to convince me to leave. Putting Laker mods in charge of the Blazers forum showed a complete lack of intelligence by the people running (ruining) that site. So, I showed up here about a month behind the mass migration. After everyone left, Mixum was still there trolling away and wondering why no one was taking his bait. BNM
He was doing that all the way up until last year. haha. Wasn't he going to sue and shut down S2? Whatever happened to that?
Was that him, or PapaG? Maybe they can get together and form a class action suit. Better call Saul! BNM
October, 2008 - yes it was. I wasn't involved in the spat at bbf, but read about it after the fact. Couldn't believe they would shoot themselves in the foot like that by putting the young, hot head, Laker mods in charge of the Blazers forum. They were too arrogant to think we'd actually leave en mass. BNM
