<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Chris Webber apparently has played his last game with the 76ers. A source told the Daily News late last night that Webber and the Sixers had agreed on the terms of a buyout of the remainder of his contract, and that the details could be finalized as soon as today. The source said that Webber, who will become a free agent, would give back less than $5 million in the deal. In his 14th NBA season, Webber is listed on the team's salary cap at $20,718,750 this season and is due $22,312,500 next season. The Daily News first reported about the potential buyout on Saturday. The deal will provide the Sixers with some salary-cap and luxury-tax relief and will clear a roster spot. Coupled with the release of rookie Steven Smith last week, the roster would stand at 13, two below the league limit.</div>We all knew this was coming....good move on the Sixers part, they need to get rid of Webber, his contract is absolutely outrageous. $42 million over the next two years? Yikes....anybody guessing where he will end up?

76ers fans should be extremely happy about this, Chris Webber disrupts the offensive flow on this team. He doesn't play defense, he shoots the mid range jumper too often, he turns the ball over in his sleep. It seems to me that when Webber is in the game the Sixers offense isn't ran smooth at all. He's shooting a horrible percentage for a big man... Good move for everybody.

Finally! You have no idea how happy I am that he is finally out of Philadelphia... the only thing that would make me happier is if Snider sold the team to Dr. J and Billy King was fired or that AI was still here and we were competing for a championship, but neither of those things are going to happen.Anyway, I guess this means we do not have to pay the luxury tax, and that our payroll next year isn't going to be the highest in the league (most probably). Bye-bye Webber, we won't miss you!

Nice move for the Sixers. I'll miss watching him limp up and down the floor and missing wide open jumpshots vs the Celtics. :(In all honesty though, this was the best move for the Sixers. Doubtful they could have traded him, but I think it wouldn't have been worth waiting for a deal to come along anyways. They would have literally gotten nothing in return.

There was no way we would be able to get a deal for him until next season, because his $22 million expiring contract would be very attractive, but we would much rather keep that.

Thanks for a few good games Webber. But you mess up our offense without AI. Im glad King was smart enough to realized that he brought Webber in to compliment AI. Now that hes gone, might as well hit the reset button.

I actually don't think this was good. We should have let him just come of our books. We still paying all most all of the money so why not let him earn it atleast?I think he will end up with the Lakers. Also Nets need a PF, but Webber wants to go to a good team. I hured some were I think Washington not sure about that.
