In a virtually meaningless game they have outplayed the Isles but haven't scored. OH NO the world is over...LOL.

Nothing new here. The Isles are getting every bounce imaginable and their scrubs score as always. On top of that, above average goalie is having a game of his life at MSG. I've seen this too many times before at MSG...

While I am ok with them losing this game as it basically guarantees them paying against Florida in the first round, I do find it comical that you if all people are over here saying anything. All season long your favorite thing to say was "don't worry we're in first." Then it was "we're still in second in the east, relax." Then it was "don't worry we're still in second in the division." Now it's "don't worry, we're in the playoffs." At some point Chuck you've gotta laugh at how you've had to lower your expectations lol. You remind me of Kevin Bacon from Animal House, "Remain calm. All is well." It's all good. You're an optimist and were hopeful they'd figure it out. Kudos to you. Wish I could be more optimistic with them but I've seen this show before from this franchise.
And I've seen enough from AV to know he's not going to get better with this team. The makeup of the team isn't good for him, but how he wants to make up this team won't work in the east, especially not with Philly and Columbus and Washington playing very physical games in our division. When you look at AVs track record, his teams have always struggled against big, physical teams. There's a lot more of those in the east than the west.
And don't take this as an insult. It's not meant to be. I'm genuinely saying kudos for being so optimistic. ;-)

I'm not lowering anything. All season long it was 100000000% about the playoffs. Said that over and over again.

The comment about being in 2nd was when all you guys complained nonstop about how we sucked, and I was simply pointing out we are in 2nd and in playoff position...all that matters.

Now I sit here and say okay...won 14 of 15 and have Sidney Crosby Pens OR we avoid the Pens and Caps until the ECF if we get there, and play the inexperienced, we'll have fans in the building, Panthers AND get TB/Boston/Detroit in round 2 if we get there. Which path do you really want?

Now if we get the Pens so be it, and you play the games, but I won't be upset we lost tonight in a game that truthfully meant very little.

    That's just honest.

I fully want Florida, and anyone who says they'd rather have the Pens is insane. Regardless if MAF is in goal for them, we'd still have to defend and score more goals then them and I simply don't see us doing that for 4 games out of 7. I don't care how shaky MAF has been, our defense is worse.

    I am with you 100% 94.

We can certainly lose to the Panthers as well, that will not be an easy series, but I much rather play them then the Pens right now...we agree 100% 94.

I have as much confidence in this group as I have in Nash scoring a meaningful goal in the playoffs.

No guarantees of anything, that's for damn sure. But they have a MUCH better chance of beating the Panthers than the Pens which we obviously both agree on.
