I wouldn't mind having his veteran presence around on offense. For as much hating as he gets, he's still a decent offensive player, even a 20/10 guy when given a chance. I wouldn't mind signing him to a short contract just to get more depth in the front court.

F*ck THAThe'll just take away from Al's minutesand you'll never see Powe againwe dont need Webber..we have enough injury problemsid rather have a young big man out of the draft...or at least pick up somebody that isnt injury prone

I wouldn't take Webber for free. He doesn't play in the post, he still demands the ball like he's an All-Star, he bricks as many mid-range shots than Antoine Walker bricks 3's, and he is a horrible defender.

I wouldn't give up a french fry for Chris Webber.

He doesn't fit in on this team anyways. Whatever he may have left in the tank would be completely useless to this team at this point. I said it talking with my friend tonight though, it's makes little sense, but it's still an intriguing option.

guys, I'm just looking for other options. the team is 12-22 in case you didn't know. a little extra talent wouldn't hurt.

I think going after webber would be a good move for the Cs. he is a vet which they need who can play around 25 to 30 minutes and produce. Only prob is hes prob gonna go to a title contender. Id like to C Cweb here

I doubt Webber would sign with the C's in the first place. He will most likely try and sign with a contender like the Suns or Mavs etc. (Note that I said he would try)

No... because then you will suck and start to lose games, which may in turn start to hurt Philadelphia's chances of getting a top three pick. [IMG]

They don't need or want Webber. He would slow the development of the whole team in general. He would be a chemistry nightmare.

Not trying to bait Celtic fans but he'd probably go to a team like Detroit or Miami before he'd come to Boston.

There is no way he will go to Boston. He said he wants to go to a contender.

Don't worry, we'll be down there right with you in the standings. We don't need a mid-range chucker to "help" us lose, we have Pierce, Wally, Allen, West, Ratliff, and Scalabrine out. That should just about do it...

Oh, I loved Chris Webber in his Sacramento days, no doubt. He was a great player, and if he won a championship, he'd be HOF worthy. But the 20/10 numbers from last year are a little overrated. He put up numbers, but he was (and is now) incredible inconsistent and he still refused to play in the paint offensively. He shoots a low percentage and he takes too many mid-range jumpers, that he just can't knock down at the rate he could before. He still wants as many touches as he used to get, and he doesn't realize that he's not C-Webb the 20/10/5 All-Star guy anymore. He's aging and his game has regressed tremendously.

Some still would say he HOF worthy he has a chance still. 20/10 from last year are overrated I know. His D sucked that is why we sucked last year on D. Webber, Korver, and Iverson at the same time on the floor was awful on the D side. lol He does take to many mid range shots I agree about that. But it's hard to see that you just can't do it any more when you were so good before.

Webber would be a bad fit for the youth movement Boston is on anyways. He'd be a starter and they'd still lose more games than they would win, miss the playoffs, get a worse draft pick and the young front court players would regress in their development. He's still a decent player, but too old to have around for 3-4 years when the C's will be a much better team
