Cheering for the clipshow was almost as bad as listening to that Ralph Lawler clown and his "bingo!" schtick . . . Damn I hate that muffer.

Blazers get a 2nd chance to control their own destiny. I actually hope it comes down to them needing to win. It will be semi-good practice for the playoffs. Denver will be quite different from playing the Clippers but at least there is something to lose...which didn't go well Saturday night. I hope if it comes down to a final DEN possession with Jurkic in the game, Stotts doesn't guard him with Brian Roberts.

Yeah thats what I wanna see; with Kaveman off the bench bombing threes.

Think we've got a good rhythm the last dozen games so our main rotation will be fine with the time off.

All we need is Dallas loss to Jazz and Grizzlies loss to Clippers and it's ours.

It would be nice to 'win' the #5 spot versus backing into it. Hope they get take care of their own business this time against DEN.

So Dallas and Grizz lose tonight and we get the #5 spot?

You know the Clipps would rather play Memphis than us...... What a weird predicament for them to be in.

Would they? I mean sure, we're a better team, but the Grizz play a much tougher brand of basketball. If they're assuming that they're going to beat either opponent, would they rather play 6 games of run-and-gun guard-oriented ball with us, or 4-5 games of rough-and-tumble, grind-it-out physical ball against the Grizz? On top of that, we're certainly a better tune-up for their presumed second-round matchup with the Warriors. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers absolutely see us as the preferred opponent.

Yeah I've seen it reported we're the preferred first round opponent. Young, inexperienced, greatly overachived, no physical presence, may be happy just to get a vacation in LA.

No. Only way they can play Memphis is if the Grizzlies beat the Warriors. Do you think they expect that.

The Clippers are worried far more about getting Griffin up to speed and their teams rhythm than who the crappiest of the huge underdog opponents they'll face.

You think we're a huge underdog vs Clippers? I don't.

Does the current Grizz roster play a tougher brand of basketball? I don't think so.

Tony Allen by himself plays a tougher brand of basketball.

Updated OP. Mavs beat the Jazz and clinch the playoffs. Rockets now will have the 8th seed with a win or a Jazz loss. Jazz need a win and a Rockets loss to make the playoffs.

Its very likely we need to win against Denver for the 5th seed. The Mavs will finish before us and should be favored at home to a Spurs team on a back to back with nothing to play for. Memphis is extremely likely to lose one of their final games and finish below us. So we likely end up playing OKC if we lose; the Clippers if we win.

    Go Blazers!

Think I'm glad to see Houston get the 8th seed. They will then lose their first round pick. Most Houston fans actually want to miss the playoffs so they keep their pick. They probably get swept by the Warriors in embarrassing fashion. If for some freak reason they beat the Warriors; well that'll be super interesting to see the best record of all time lose as a 1 seed. It would give us an easy opponent in round 2 ;).

Denver's motivation will be interesting. They are nearly tied with the Knicks, Kings and Bucks. A game to keep an eye on is the Knicks game. If the Knicks lose then Denver will switch picks with them because it'll be higher. If the Knicks win then Denver will be tied with them for wins and could potentially keep their own pick. Their own pick may be worth more with a loss depending on the Kings or Bucks finish. Draft lottery tie breaks are determined by coin flip.

Either way Denver will either have some incentive to lose or will be ready to go on vacation so we really should win this game. Denver doesn't have the matchup issues of Towns or Wiggins. If we lose this game it'll be very concerning.

Yeah, losing to MIN was a pretty big failure on our part.
