It's the refs that should have ads on their uniforms, because they're bought anyways.

    It won't. They'll raise prices.

I think Strenuus is taking a 2.5 x 2.5 patch a littleeeeee too seriously

Leave the jerseys alone and put the ads on the socks.

Yea that's how it starts. I don't want to buy a fucking Jersey with Ads on it. Nor do I want to see Ads while I'm watching the game, there is already enough commercials.

Actually the ads will be a cool feature on old jerseys 20yrs from now. Many of the companies will be out of business.

    Blockbuster

    Enron

    PanAm

    Atari

It will give @EL PRESIDENTE a new focus for his hipster jersey collection.

They won't reduce costs anywhere else. This isn't going to lower seat prices or LP.

This is another revenue stream. And this is NOTHING like soccer because (as Strenuus said) there are very few commercials in soccer so they have to find revenue elsewhere. The NBA has a million commercials. This just guarantees that I won't ever buy a jersey again.

It's gonna be funny to see Portlands largest dispensary having their logo sported on a Blazer jersey.

This is my stance as well. How exactly is more advertisement going to help the consumer? Cable to watch the games is through the roof. League pass is blacked out in home markets. Tickets aren't cheap either. Neither is merchandise. Like Strenuus said, we get bombarded with commercials, pre-game, post-game, halftime, and throughout the broadcast ... will that change? Hell no.

So exactly, how does this help the basketball fan? I could care less if billionaire owners continue to pad their pockets and, to me, this is all that it's about.

Also, tradition. Ads on jerseys is so goddamn tacky. I'm perfectly fine being a walking advertisement for the Trail Blazers but why in the fuck would I wear a jersey with another brand's logo on it?

Because it's more money in the pockets of billionaires and more ads shoved down our throats? I laid it out already.

It's the IDEA of it, not the 2.5x

Think about it for a second, it's not that hard to understand.

I'm used to it because of soccer. But the clubs usually do a really good job of blending the ads in. And each shirt has just one "sponsor." I'm imagining a local insurance company and a couple of beer logos. This could get ugly.
