Boykins is top 5 in my list for 6th Man of the Year. Steve Blake atleast brings shooting and passing off the bench. Boykins is just so much more along with a possibly good role player in the future of Hodge.

Wow, this was unexpected. Boykins was a juge offensive part to the Nuggets. The Bucks will definately benefit, because they need some scoring help while Michael Redd, Mo Williams and Charlie V are out. Steve Blake is another initiator for the Nuggets now. He isn't a very good scorer, but he can pass the ball. The Nuggets lose a good offensive player in Boykins, but then again, he is one of the League's biggest ball hogs. I think both teams will be alright with this. Maybe, advantage Bucks. Because they also get a decent prospect in Julius Hodge. I know the kid's talented...

They should of kept Boykins a bit to patch up the suspension for a bit. Steve Blake is not exactly the ideal guy I would see for both Boykins and Hodge. But it seems like the Nuggets needed to do it...

Let's trade an undersized SG who can score for another one that can't. Banks can't shoot or run an offense. He's a defensive stopper and that's it. Phoenix is regretting giving him that fairly big contract. Denver needed a real PG and wouldn't have gotten one in Banks.

Well we do get a true point guard and get rid of Boykins who always shoots. He has been good lately, but once 'Melo gets back hes out was going to be of the starting lineup.

Bad for who, and why?</div>It is obviously a bad trade for Denver. Who cares if Boykins wanted to be traded. For Steve Blake? AND you add in Julius Hodge just for the hell of it? I really dont get it. Earl Boykins is a good scorer off of the bench. He doesn't have to be a great defender. The reason he goes in to the game is because of his offense. Steve Blake isn't terrible, but what makes him good enough to be traded for Boykins AND Hodge? It is just a dumb move and it definitely wont help them. Hell, maybe the Nuggetts just wanted a real PG on their team. Who knows...

^The Luxury Tax ballerman. I think it's something that's going to be common in deals and signings in the NBA. Owners are more weary about lengths and sizes of deals they take on. This is just an example of the Nuggets' Owner wanting to stay under and save money. Mark Cuban is another doing the same with acquiring large expiring contracts and letting them expire.

There must have been a lot of pressure going down from the top on Nuggets GM to get this trade done with Milwaukee. I would say it's a little bit paranoid move because although Milwaukee's expiring exception ends Friday, the trading deadline doesn't until 22 Feb for the Nuggets. The Nuggets certainly could have waited and received better offers for Boykins. But there's also that X factor of favor that couldn't be overlooked. We'd look bad as a management not to help out Milwaukee, who's desperate for scoring help. And it'd look 1000X worse if we didn't help the Bucks after what Philly exactly had done for us a couple of weeks before (trading AI to us for... scoring help). Word got around fast, if we had rejected Milwaukee, they would have called other teams for help and in the process could have leaked out the word that "Denver isn't a helpful partner" and could hurt us in future negotiations with not only Milwaukee but other teams as well. But I couldn't disagree that we could have gotten more out of Boykins.

I totally love this trade...I don't care for Julius Hodge or Earl Boykins that much but they are both emotional guys. Steve Blake is just a career backup PG who goes through the motions...I'm not real sad he's leaving. Besides, he's a FA anyway. With Michael Redd, Mo Williams, Charlie Villanueva and Bobby Simmons all out we need a scoring punch. Charlie can't do it himself...Earl Boykins is a funny little guy who tries hard, he has a lot of liabilities but I am down with him. I remember a week or so ago when we played the Nuggets, Boykins made a cut to the basket and ran into Bogut who then fell over...(5'5" 135 vs. 7'0" 250)...Boykins got charged with the foul and he gave the ref one of those...'Are you freaking kidding me?' Looks with a laugh...it was classic. I would have never thought I'd say this in my life...Our playoff hopes depend on a black midget and a giant Australian with a mullet.

The trade looks pretty bad for Denver on paper, but not when that piece of paper leads to the bank. Besides, Boykins expressed that he wanted out way before hand, and Blake will be OK for them. Like BCB said, he's a backup that just kind of plays it by year and goes through the motions, but Denver needs that. They need a guy to set up the offense and get the ball to their great offensive players. Boykins is not needed on a team with Iverson, let alone Melo and Smith.

OMG idiots. morons, crack heads, LOL sorry but WTF was Denver thinking? First I hate cheap gm's who scared to over pay or should I say owners. They would have been able to get a way better deal for Boykins. Damn it sucks I like Boykins even though I wanted them to rebuild half the bench with Boykins being one of them at 5'5 being taking advantage of on D. But this just sucks what cheap morons. Why don't they trade Nene, Martin, picks, and maybe even JR for a PF who will actually play like Pau. I said in another thread Memphis would never probably take a deal with any of those guys, but you can try never know. Martin is injury prone won't get the job done even if he is back next season he will get a injury again at some point. Ah and I like JR on offense, but his D will kill us along with AI D something else needs to be done I say a few things if they wanna beat teams like Dallas, Spurs, and the Suns.

Ok, I understand Boykins wanted to be traded, but come on for this? What were they thinking, and Ginger Jesus that Marcus Banks trade would of been good.
