I said all year that this team sucks as far a contending for a cup. I thought they could get swept by Pitt. However, losing because your team isn't good enough is one thing. Losing because your dumbass coach continues to put out an inferior lineup is another. His stupidity with McIlrath continues to amaze as does his desire to play useless Glass. Number 1 problem on this team is there is zero leadership. McDonagh is not a captain. Where is the captain going to AV and telling him put McIlrath and Lindberg in there. We are a better team. Honestly, if I was a player and saw Boyle being played over McIlrath and Glass over Lindberg I would be pissed. I would not rule out AV getting canned at the end of the season. Doubt it will happen but I don't see this GM as having any balls to set his coach straight.
Aside from the constant obsession with the same name or two it's quite obvious they lost because they don't score. 17 shots and only four in the third period. None of which was closer than 25-30 feet is clearly the problem. If someone can tell me what Dylan McIlrath is going to do to solve that issue then I'm all ears.
Defense isn't the problem with this team in the postseason They have played 22 games the past 2 years and have scored more than 2 goals 7 times in 22 games. That is ridiculous. They have also won 6 games 2-1 during that time. That is unbelievable pressure on Hank I don't like Glass much. I think its a valid criticism of him playing too much for a team that doesn't score enough. But any complaining about the defense is totally off base. You are not going to win Stanley Cups scoring 1-2 goals almost every night. At home its even worse....They have played 11 games at the Garden the past 2 years and have scored 2 goals or less in 9 of them. Never scoring more than 3 goals. 3 of those games they win 2-1 in OT. They have also lost 6 games in the past 2 years giving up 2 non empty net goals. Think about that for a second....The team loses 6 games in post season giving up only 2 goals in the game. And everyone wonders why Hank has a .500 playoff record. Its amazing his record is that good with this pathetic post season offensive team Go out and score some fucking goals for a change. Put a lineup out that can score 3 goals in a game and they will win a freaking Stanley Cup. DEFENSE IS NOT THE PROBLEM
Yes, the offense has always been a problem. However, Yandle came out and said he loves playing with McIlrath. When your best offensive defenseman wants to play with another defenseman partner, perhaps you dumb bastard coach should listen.
Looks like Hayes out, and Lindberg in with Staal and Fast. That 3rd line has to get going. Must win tonight IMO. Highly doubtful we can come back from 3-1 down for a 3rd straight season with this team...not happening IMO. Need to win tonight...that simple IMO.
If anything hopefully that wakes this team up and makes them realize they need to crash the net just like that and say fuck you to AV and his philosophy of everything to the outside and no one crashing the goalie and being aggressive.
And Zucc, Kreider, Staal, Hayes, Miller, Brassard, Stalberg etc etc. His gameplan is for the Rangers to try and spread them out and make cross ice passes and get a goal that way. It doesn't work, as evident by this team's lack of scoring. Also what a bogus penalty call and again this PK can't do shit. If Arneil isn't gone after this year then this entire fucking franchise is doomed and run by incompetent assholes.
Watch the games Al. Every time we are in the offensive zone, which is a rare occasion, this team is all on the boards. One behind the goal, one on both the half boards, and then at the points and that's it. Just watch. It's a fucking joke.
