This is what I'm seeing among the forum. Bunch of people overreacting. "Dames bad", "trade cj". Did you think we were winning a title this year? We lost four starters and were able to be a 5th seed in the playoffs. I mean yeah I expected more competition out of this clipper series and it's not over yet but that doesn't mean the sky is falling. Cj is staying no matter how much you wanna dream some trade package for an all star. Damian is hounded on defense in this series and really trying to help his team but you still shit on him for it. This guy can do nothing right in some of your eyes but when he hits his shots you love him. When he misses it's tunchi screaming feast or famine or "wow what happened to him". That's not a fan. Stay on the wagon at all times, not just when things are right and dame and the team are doing well.

Some even believe now that a draft pick would just do us wonders. What proof do you have of that? I have watched the same teams in the lottery continue each year to be terrible. Some people think that with a pick, Neil can provide magic and we can have a Paul George or some ridiculous shit like that I always see on here. "Package cj with this and that and get a Paul George!", shits getting stupid on here. Running around like chickens with your heads cut off. LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE. Be logical. I witnessed the fastest rebuild this season. 44 wins or 43, whatever it was. Mostly due to the guy getting so much hate. DAME. As well as cj but for whatever reason he doesn't take criticism for bad games he has. Chase the star away, that's Portland fans for you. Never has a guy been so loyal to the organization and fans yet it's still not enough. Nothing's enough. I just see a bunch of people complaining lately. Chill out

I think more agree with you than you realize, but we are starting to turn the corner into the off season discussions, because as pleasant as it has been, its almost over.

Every town has its share of fair weather fans. Most just ignore the team until its winning though...
Look at the Mariners. When I lived up there during the Griffey years I know some people who said they were lifers, those same people couldn't tell you a single name on the current roster...

I am too also getting upset with the Dame hate, you could put curry out there instead and the result wouldn't be much different.

    Fantastic post.

Total shift in para-dimes required. This team was expected to do squat. We overachieved to make the play offs. Most teams require several seasons to do just that. We can not reasonable be expected to compete with the four best teams inn the West at this time. Our guys have done great.

I'm not saying let's trade C.J. I'm saying that the Blazers should explore trading C.J. It's not easy trading a fan favorite but if you can make your team better by trading one of your best players you look into it. I think the Blazers can do that. Is C.J really the best guy to run alongside Lillard?

Amen! And this series isn't CLOSE to over. Don't give up guys. We haven't even played at home once yet. It's a long series. Hang in there. You don't get to jump back on the bandwagon after we beat these guys in 6 games. Go Blazers!!!

No offense, but some of you need to learn to multi-task.

It is true that the team exceeded expectations and deserves to be applauded for that.

It is equally true that some fans hope for more than scraping to break .500 and getting creamed in the play-offs.

These are not mutually exclusive thoughts! I'm sorry, but it baffles me that any "fan" would object to discussions on how to improve the team for the future.

Name one fan who actually thought we should do more this season than hit .500 and make the playoffs? Please? One?

I think there are those people but they are speaking of long term. Problem is many of the sound as though they mean this year.

Also lets not forget when Steph was getting trapped against the cavs in last years finals, he couldn't do anything and then everybody was giving delly credit. There's not much you can do against a defense like that on top of Chris Paul's defense. He literally can't get an offense going and it's tiring. So when he does get an open shot it's not a high percentage look because at that point he's so tired from constantly trying to dribble through two defenders or just trying to get out of the trap

I think cj and dame will be the starting back court for years to come. I think front office has made that obvious. These guys are best friends, they live here year around, their moms hang out. Logic tells me that cj isn't even being considered for a trade I mean unless something crazy gets offered to us which we can't refuse but other than that I don't see it happening

Exactly - they are talking about the long term. Discussions about improving the team in the future are not some mortal insult to the team of today. They went further than expected, and now fans are interested in how they take the next step.

I'm just saying this process could of taken multiple years. Nobody expected this team to be where they are at. I have never seen it before. I believe this squad can beat the clippers, problem is shots aren't being hit. we shot 30 percent and were down 4 at the half right there in this game till the end of the 3rd. Yeah I wish this was more competitive and it's cool to make logical judgements and observations but all I have seen are emotional driven posts with no thought or anything. Not only did we speed up the rebuilding process but if we can pick up certain pieces in the offseason, we can get further next year. No doubt in my mind this is a top 4 seed within the next year or two

I think it would behoove them to make that a bit more clear. I tend to agree that most of the posts that MIGHT be about the long term, sure read as the now. But I think I get it overall. But the confusion does lead to alot of useless bickering.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again. We all want the same thing, its just a difference of opinions on how to get there. This forums cumulative is alot more alike than we tend to show based off of our disagreements on here.

Problem is ( and I'm guilty as anyone on this) that we all have our opinions and when your opinion is shot down by the majority, its very easy to take it personal (though not valid) I think in these times it would help if we try to remind ourselves of just this. We are all here for the same reason. To support our favorite team and discuss all avenues of them.. including how to improve.

You don't understand what a bandwagon fan is.

You also have some delusional perception that the power of positivity is going to will players to victory on the court. Do you think any of us will be in the game? Any of us devise strategies for the coaches? People rambling on the internet can say whatever the hell they want.

Pessimistic, negative, critical, delusional, bi-polar? Yeah maybe we have a lot of those right now. Pretty standard, and expected, for a passionate rabid fanbase.

You know what would be a far worse indicator of Blazer fans? If the Blazers were playing like shit and none of us cared at all.

I'm fine with talking next step but next step isn't "dame sucks and trade cj". Next step is pretty simple. We have a lot of money to blow, a lot of targets to go after. That's next step. Getting a legit big and another scorer. You can do that through free agent process. yes, our luck hasn't been great with free agents but you never know. Times have changed, players don't look to New York and LA for places to go anymore.

Never is everyone going to meet in the middle though There will always be the extreme few on both sides. Those who say this team is a champ team just give it a few years and we don't need anything else, and then those that say break it up because it wont work as is.

Not saying anything is right or wrong, just the way it is.

Rip city is a passionate fan base obviously. I'm a huge fan, been one my whole life. Invested hundreds of dollars into jerseys and blazer shit, games. I have two dame jerseys chilling on my wall right now. Last dude I did that with was b Roy. With Lillard you get a guy who loves the organization and has made it clear he wants to stay. Averaged 25 and 6 for the year on not the best percentage but still won us games. Without him, we aren't in the playoffs. I don't wanna see this passionate fan base sabotage it's all star all because they don't understand certain aspects of the game or they think he can do better. Different opinions are cool whether I disagree with them or not just stop getting crazy with it and illogical. It's not making for any good debate or conversation. Turning on your all star and coach isn't gonna do anything but cause more negativity especially when they both have done so much for this team and franchise
