If the NBA wants to have seven game series, fine, whatever...... but having game one on Sunday, game two on Wednesday, and game three on Saturday is just absurd. They don't need two days inbetween games. It should be: Game one - Sunday Game two - Tuesday Game three - Friday Game four - Sunday One day off between the first set of home games and then two days between the next set of home games. This is just way too drawn out.
From here on out, there is a game every other day (1 game in between). The first 3 games are really drawn out because of TV and being able to show all the games. They shorten the rest days after game 3 because they know some series will not last more than 4 games.
Another reason why I was not too concerned about the need to rest our players for the last couple of games of the regular season. The Playoffs are not as tough as the regular season from a travel standpoint. 5 days in LA and now 5 days in Portland. (4 games in around 10 days)
The NBA has really nothing to compete with right now. They are going to milk this for as much as they can.
I thought they needed the rest too, but it doesn't seem to have done them any good going into the playoffs. Not sure its a good thing at this point. Wondering if we lost our rhythm with too many days off in between games the last two weeks of the season and playoffs.
If the Blazers don't improve dramatically, after the next two games we're going to have to wait a lot longer than 3 days for more Blazers basketball.
Yeah, but then comes my favorite time of the year..... the offseason! For a few glorious months, anything is possible and on paper we could be the best team in the league. And then real life sets in and the league and the refs and the players ruin everything.
wait. I liked that and then unliked it. Favorite time of the years is the offseason? Doesnt that get a Kingspeed badfan stamp?
My favorite time ever was when we had acquired Pippen and Smith and Detlef, and for a while we were considered the best team in the league. For a while we were the paper champs. That was so much fun. And then the league and the Lakers ruined it.
Yeah but in all fairness didn't that paper last through to the playoffs? I live on the east coast then so didn't get much Blazere info, but I'm pretty sure we were one of the couple of best teams all season long?
Yeah, we definitely were. I think for me, the dream of winning can sustain me through the summer, and the anticipation.... and then I watch the games and all the BS that goes with the NBA just ruins my buzz.
