But then nobody knows about the bet. Personally I like to know about them, So Id prefer people keep them public. Maybe we need to start an official betting thread so all bets get placed there? Then only the gamblers and those interested need read about it?
Geez D, Your making it sound as if every thread is littered with Betting. Honestly, I don't even know where the gripe came from other than Eric bringing up HCP not paying. Again. We can create one single thread for those who like to bet. Friendly wagers, money bets whatever. If your against gambling, that's your right, but don't tell everyone else they cant do it just cause you don't like it. I'm offering a suggestion and you blew it off.
Well... the suite we were in was provided by something resembeling money exchanging by way of luck....
Well, I like many, was witness to the bet, SO I understand Eric's Gripe. But yeah, maybe a thread dedicated to it and then if the mods agree they can make sure no one discusses betting outside of that thread? SLy? Thoughts?
You're not... it's an issue between two people that should be resolved between those two people. Unfortunately, it's the entire board's issue now.
I've never met HCP (and didn't read the "wager") but, after reading his posts for a number of years, there are two things about him that have never changed. He is a devoted family #1 and a very happy employee #2. I can guarantee if he actually did make a "bet" it was a joke... there is NO WAY he would risk his job and his family by making a real bet on the official forum of the Blazers. It would be career suicide.
I was hoping someone would take my $100 bet that no one was going to bet on the forum in a thread. Damnit!
Is that true? on the serious, I rarely gamble gamble ( dog and horse tracks, bookie, etc). Ive been to Nevada and done gambling there and headed to Lincoln city or something, but have no clue of the laws on personal wagers. I apologize if what I offered was illegal. I don't know him, but many do and you are consistent in what I heard. Honestly, I don't care one way or another about their bet. I was only chipping in because I have had a couple of my own bets on here in public too, so I suppose I am also part of the core of the gripe. Understood. Conversations may go to a wager but then details and confirmations can go private, but then there is a problem to that. Often you need someone to bare witness to the wager, so there is someone to validify who won and who lost. I think that's why the end up in the forum. I understand the complaint now though.
I just saw Paul Allen at my place of business. Last time I saw him here was the day before our game six win against Houston. If I were superstitious I'd say that's a pretty good sign.
Challenge accepted. Well done, Plumlee! Oh, and Aminu proved the thinking behind LAC's defensive strategy, clanging his open threes but nailing the most difficult off-balance one on a desperate kick-out. He and Harkless should only shoot them when they don't have time to think.
