Said from day one this team needed 3-4 major changes. Gorton was a tool and thought they could contend. He screwed up big time. Now the team freakin sucks.
Rangers have not scored more than 3 goals in any of their last 22 home playoff games. That is the second-longest such streak in NHL history. What a complete friggin joke that is.
And that is why this team doesn't have a Cup. And why Hank has a .500 playoff record and wont get a cup unless he is traded. This core of players has just never scored enough in the playoffs
AV is not a playoff head coach........... and neither are the players on this team. I said it during this season when the players showed their inconsistencies again and again, the window is shut for these Rangers to get The Stanley Cup. 101 points and getting the boot in first round. Sound proof that the regular season means squat!
AV took Vancouver to game 7 of SC Final and NY to Game 5 of SC Final and he is not a playoff head coach ? Really ? wanna walk that back ?
Really! He's a one to two year wonder and then you get what you saw last night. Long term he just wears thin. Watching him day in and day out, he coaches like this team plays......poor decisions.
Hawks, Flyers, Wild all won game 5 on the road down 3-1...let's see if we can do the same. I certainly wouldn't bet on it with the way we played in game 3 and especially game 4, but teams have been staying alive and winning these elimination road games the past couple of days...so let's be next to do it. With that said, I felt Pens in 5 or 6 before the series and I'll stick with that. You could clearly make the case that the Pens are the best team in the NHL right now, Sharks looked darn good as well, and they certainly have played that way down the stretch. The Rangers played like trash at MSG, but this was an awful matchup for us and I said it very loudly the second it was locked in. BTW...it would be funny to see the Rangers win today only to lose AGAIN at MSG and get eliminated in 6. It would sort of fit. But truthfully I think we are done today. I just haven't see a darn thing that makes me believe we show up big today. But hey...these are the NHL playoffs and anything can happen. So drop the puck and maybe we show up big and the Pens are a little flat.
We have been trying to tell you that all f'n year Chuck that this team has showed nothing. Yet, you continued to want to do more go for it now at all cost trades. Now the organization is fucked unless they can deal some players to get picks and prospects back.
Thankfully we didn't make a go for it now at all cost trade this season. No doubt all you downer guys were finally right this year after years of preaching it. I can't argue with you there dump. You guys were finally right this year...no doubt. We certainly have work to do this summer. We'll see how it plays out.
It has nothing to do with "right", This organization has not been putting the best team on the ice...... and has not been smart with the draft.

Well said cage If your a veteran AV throws you out there no matter how bad you play (Glass, Girardi, Boyle and Staal most of the season) while kids that play well like Mcilreith, Lindberg and even Hrivik when he was up here are banished to the press box. AV needs to go as this team if he stays only gets worse from here. No game adjustments, personnel moves and a lack of heart from the players are damning.
