Top of the list, Dan Boyle curses out Larry Brooks and won't start his interview before he leaves the press scrum. Love it. Go write another article about how we should trade JT Miller for a Mike Santorelli rental you hack.

Boyle also says he's leaning towards retirement. You've had a great career Danny but it's certainly time.

Girardi was concussed on the Brian Boyle hit, cleared to return G1 but symptoms returned which is why he was out.

There are also some reports coming out that Danny Boyle dealt with a very serious family issue earlier this year which caused him to miss some time. Apparently not happy how some in the press, specifically Brooks who was absolutely BRUTAL to him, never even asked him about it off the record.

Boyle has never liked reporters so it's not surprising.

Good for Boyle. Brooks and Cygrelis are jokes and what they write is garbage. The problem with Boyle is he got old. He played all right in last year's playoffs. Can't argue he was one of the great offense of defenseman of his era. With that said you can't blame a guy taking $9 million over two years to play for a contender. Blame Sather

(twitter): Yandle: #NYR Keith Yandle: "The organization here is amazing. I could definitely see myself here."

(twitter): Yandle repeatedly said NYR is an "amazing" org. Would love to be back. Doesn't know how it will go.

    Find a way Gorton.

Makes no sense unless they trade McDonagh or Staal and Skjei can play the right side once Graves is ready.

Yes, its been repeated on here over and over what needs to happen. I'm just pointing out that the guy clearly would like to be here so Gorton should be doing what he can to make that happen.

I cannot imagine them trading McDonagh, especially not with that friendly contract. You and Brooks seem to be the only two who want to explore that idea.

Gross: AV was asked whether Kevin Hayes is definitely part of the team's future: "Yes, without a doubt."

Agreed. Too much potential to give up just yet. 2 yr bridge deal, around 2m. If he doesnt work that's a very reasonable contract we can trade and get something back for. Important year for him coming up.

    ...

Cerny: AV mentioned several times "the back end" as to area where#NYR really need to analyze how to be better.

Hartnett: #NYR HC Alain Vigneault mentions the need to change pieces. Says it's time to look to improve going forward.

Dan Rosen: Alain Vigneault on the @NYRangers core group: "I think we're at the stage now where we need to look at some changes."

Sounds like the front office knows what needs to happen. Reading between the lines, either Staal or Girardi won't be here next year. In a perfect world, both. Very much appreciate what both guys have given to this franchise and all the playoff runs they have been a part of, but neither of them can keep up any longer and both of those contracts in hindsight were bad moves and based on play in a very different system.

Don't blame Boyle for being a douche to Brooks, who is a douche himself

And glad to read management agrees changes need to be made. Let's just hope they are significant changes and not just slightly different makeup on the same pig.

Sorry, Boyle is a pussy. I have no love for Brooks. However, when you get paid 4.5 million and suck, I don't give a shit what you are going through. Suck it up and deal with. Brooks could call me an asshole daily. At 39 making 4.5 I wouldn't give a fuck. I would ignore it. Boyle's actions are exactly what is wrong with this team. Too many dickheads, making too much money who can't earn it and don't want to be criticized.

Disagree. Brooks went out of his way to be a dick to Boyle and ripped him every chance he got. And it wasn't limited to on-ice performance which is always fair game. Brooks called him "selfish," "stubborn," and "apart from the team" in his columns. Direct quotes, go look. That's hack journalism and simply not true. Meanwhile did Brooks ever rip Tanner Glass, Staal or Girardi like that? No, because they are nice guys who stroke his ego and gave him good soundbytes. Brooks had a personal dislike for Boyle and Boyle told him to go fuck himself. I have no problem with that.

I'd have to agree with this. Nobody likes Brooks but Boyle should've just said what he had to say and not made it a spectacle. After how the season ended this doesn't really reflect well on the organization. Now the stupid video of it is floating around everywhere.

Everyone knows the Post is a rag and shouldn't be taken seriously. The Daily News is even worse. I admit the video is funny but I think it just wasn't worth it.

Again, you get paid 4.5 million. Grow a pair of balls and deal with criticism. It's NY. Get used to it. You want to know why this team had no heart. Because it had a roster full of sissy boys like Boyle. The bottom line was that Boyle sucked. All Brooks was saying was the same thing we all did. It was a disgrace that he was playing over McIlrath. The old fart didn't like it. Well, don't play like shit and you won't get slammed in the press.

If you agree with Boyle your head is up your ass because Rick Nash has been destroyed by the media 100 times worse than Boyle and he's never cried about it once.

Come on dump. My head is not up my ass at all. A Rick Nash comparison is apples to oranges. Nash is still under contract in this organization while Dan Boyle has played the last game of his career. And if money is the factor here, Nash should be getting destroyed by the media worse since he makes so much more.

Didnt say Id do the same thing, but I have no problem with it at all. Also didnt mean for this to turn into a big thing, just thought it was entertaining for a guy to walk out the door giving a big FU to Larry Brooks. After all, you're the king of giving an FU to people :)

    Let's drop it.

Maybe i'm in the minority but i don't think Boyle played all that badly in his time here. Sure he was a pylon on defense but at 39 he was here to help on the pp which i don't honestly think he was awful on. Geez, talk about bad defensively, look at our 32 y/o making more than him. Disastrous.

Who cares is my take. Be the bigger man, I get why Boyle did it, but who cares. He is now an ex-Ranger and will never put on the NYR sweater again...so to me nothing to see here.

I firmly believe we'll see 6 or 7 new/different players on the team next year. And I 100% believe at least one of Nash/G/Staal will be gone, if not two. And I 100% believe that at least one of G/Staal will be gone.

From there we move forward and I think are right back near the top again next season.
