I hate to see an injury to anyone, even Chris Paul (who isn't anywhere near the top of my NBA despised players list.) He is a great defender in his own right, but I do think he gets away with a ton of grabbing, holding, pushing and bodying. What he gets away with astonishes me with the "let em play" type of officiating in the playoffs.

So I have to admit that a small part of me was satisfied with the poetic justice of him injuring his finger while grabbing the jersey of Gerald (and subsequently not getting called for a foul.)

Yeah, I'm glad that his injury wasn't caused by a Blazer hitting him. He was getting in a shot at a passing Henderson, looked like he was trying to throw him off balance. Some would call it karma.

    Here's the deal:

To be the best you gotta beat the best. I want to beat the shit out of that fucking Flopper too!

    But think of this perspective:

Karma is a mother fucker. You fake being hurt and what happens? Chris Paul fakes being hurt all the time.

You do, but the Warriors won the title against a seriously banged up and injury depleted Cavs team last year. Injuries are part of playing in the league.

From that angle it almost looks like Paul was trying to punch the ball loose, like you might do in the NFL. You would think he must have tried to push Henderson pretty aggressively to break a bone in his hand on the back of his jersey. But, I don't know, guess this kind of stuff can happen without a lot of force. Just seems like a freak injury. I don't make anything out of it, to be honest.

Which is why, 73-9 or not, their championship has an asterisk next to it IMO.

After going through an injury-depleted MEM, and HOU - both of whom they'd probably have beaten regardless, but still. Easiest path to a championship since LAL/NJN.

He didn't so much break his hand ON his back, but got his fingers caught in his jersey and it twisted them the wrong way.

The video I posted shows that it occurred before that. It looks like he was swiping at the ball with his right hand, almost gets Gerald in the nards, but gets hit on his thigh/hip instead.

I'd love to beat them at full strength. We already had the momentum and never trailed in the game last night. Of course, a player of CP3's magnitude getting injured is big news, but not a single post game show last night bothered to mention that the Blazers led that game wire to wire, even though Chris Paul hit his first 6 shots. We outplayed them with and without, Chris Paul on the floor. A little credit for actually outscoring them while CP3 was in the game would be nice, but fuck it. I hope our guys actually feel slighted by the lack of credit they are being given by the national media.

Nope. That clip doesn't show the part where he breaks his hand. TNT had it slowed down and zoomed in. He sorta shoved Hendo in the back as he was swiping at the ball with his left hand, and when he went to shove him, he got his fingers caught up in Henderson's jersey.

Is it possible he broke the hand before then and then when he reached out to grab Henderson his hand bent the way it did because he had already injured it? I don't know if that's possible or not, but CP3 drives down the court and passes the ball before he even seems to react to the injury, so I tend to think it's possible.

Especially after hendo got pushed and hacked by paul then kneed and throw to ground by jordan with no foul call. Its like the basketball gods grabbed adam silver by the balls and said your script is no good this year, mother fucker! The only way the karma and tears taste sweeter is if doc rivers gets a concussion by a stray flying dildo.

On top of that, this play led to Redick bricking two open 3s, and then Aminu canning a 3 of his own coming back. Ball don't lie.

He actually reacted immediately after getting it caught in hendo's jersey. He stopped and flexed his hand for a second and then took the ball up the court. He passed the ball and realized how bad it was.

I even walked into work today with an incredible attitude like I just had the best sex of my life.
