I know nether injury was our fault or intentional but Clippers are going to come at us hard. They can either try to out gun us or out muscle us. My money is on out muscle. They're going to send Jordan to take out Plumlee and River to take out Lillard and CJ.

If the refs don't maintain control of this game from the opening tip it's going to get ugly.

Funny stat i read watching the Celtics vs Hawks game. The winner of game 5 goes when the series is tied 2-2 goes on to win the series 82% of the time. Makes sense because the team with Home court is on their court for game 5. But it also means that the team that is on the road gets the advantage.
I of course thought really hard and came up with my own stat....The team that wins game seven wins the series 100% of the time!

I completely agree, I just think it's going to be the most physical game of the series.

The Clippers have as much chance of getting blood from the Blazers as
a mosquito has a chance of getting blood from a pack of pit bulls.

You know i am sure you are right on that. One thing i am seeing is huge growth by the Blazers. The defense has started to understand playoff basketball. They are starting to understand just how much tougher the game is in the playoffs. They are seeing how the refs choose to make calls.
This team is growing and getting tougher every game. I like it very much.

I hope they do. I hope they come out and jack up a bunch of bad shots.

No question i am seeing the Blazers as the tougher team right now. Like Rocky said...."It's not how hard you can hit. It's how hard you can get hit and keep fighting."

    Fuck the Slippers.

They can come with everything they've got. We win by 20.

Trap game. In more ways than one. They're gonna trap Dame and CJ even harder tonight than before because they're gonna try to minimize possessions.

Defense needs to be ON. Can't rely on Chief to drop 6 threes again.

He seems to be saying Portland would lose if Redick were healthy, pointing to some advanced statistic or another. That's nuts. The Clips do well on Redick's high efficiency scoring because...Chris Paul and Blake Griffin deliver him the ball at points where he can take high efficiency shots. Without those two to create for him, who is going to do that?

Ditto for DeAndre Jordan. He got paid Franchise Player money, but in the end he's worse than useless on the offensive end now (when you factor in free throws) because there's nobody throwing lobs to him.

Portland should blow out these two games handily. They're stuck with opportunistic scorers, and the only one who can create now is Crawchuck, and he ain't creating for anybody but himself.

These are "step on a guy's throat when they are down" games. If Portland doesn't win two in a row, well, then we need to seriously revamp our roster.

    Mook,
    1) I didn't get that from Locke. I thought he was saying that they Clippers were able to survive previously, is because they could lean on Reddick - and they can't this time. I didn't hear him say that if they had Reddick they would win.

    2) Portland teams have had trouble stepping on throats for a long time. This particular team is much younger than our previous playoff teams, so part of me is confident, but another part is worried. It will really be a test of Dame's leadership IMHO.

Wonder how many times Jordan will go to the line tonight. They're gonna keep forcefeeding him.

Rivers and Crawful will need some extra defensive attention, and hope our scouting reports are tight on guys like Jeff Green and Prigioni. As long as we maintain our focus, we should be OK. I'd rather not face potential elimination on FRI.

I really think if we can come out strong right out of the gate, and build an 8-10 point lead, they will crumble. They completely deflated in game 4 after the news broke that Paul was done. They're going to come out fired up, but if we can play solid defense, force bad shots, and slowly build a lead, I think they'll throw in the towel.
