Ginger Jesus says Iverson, actually. 2 years ago everyone was raving about him and he won a scoring title and everything looked good. Last year things started getting shaky with the trade talk. And now people question how much he actually helps a team. They talk about how bad his attitude is, his bad shot selection.

He's actually getting better as he gets older, and proving everybody wrong in terms of when he'll slow down (every year people say this is the year he does, but it hasn't happened the past two to three years). Plus there was talk of trading him every offseason in Philadelphia. People still rave about him, etc., and the talk that is following him now has been following him his whole career anyway. If anything I think his stock has risen slightly simply because he's raised his APG while maintaining his 28+ point per game average. But my pick would have to be Kevin Garnett. After that WCF season he hasn't sniffed the playoffs, and people actually started thinking about trading him, when a few years ago the general consensus was that he was untouchable. Granted his front office never really gave him too much to look forward to and/or work with, but he just seemed demoralized and depressed once Cassell and Sprewell were injured and eventually gone. Right now he looks to be back to his old self and has Minnesota thinking playoffs, but I'd say his stock has fallen more than any other superstar in the league.

Last year was second averaging the most points of his carrer 33 PPG. And BigMo is right every season there was talk about tading AI that is what I hated he got no respect there is not bench guy out there who was on the trade talks more then AI over the years. And there is no one really, but haters who think if he actually helps a team. Bad attitude? Im Philly with him being on the block every year he should have asked to leave when it first started yet he stayed loyal with that awful gm. That is bad attitude? All the guys in Denver say how much of a leader he actually is in the locker room not just the coach. They said they knew he was a great player, but never how much of a leader he really is. Mutombo said he lvoed playing with AI. During the Denver VS Rockets game when Diawara was missing all them shots during a time out when AI set on the bench, and Diawara set a few seats down AI called over Diawara telling him not to worry about it just keep shooting or some sorts of that from reports. And as to shot selection? When everyone is scared to shoot in Philly and give the ball with time running out he is forced into a bad shot. He also get's doubled/tripled teamed half the time due to lack of guys who are threats around him.But Yeah back to the topic I say Sammy Dalembert a lot of teams use to like him, and he has underachived a lot.

I would say that no ones stock has fallen off more than Steve Francis's after he got traded from Houston. He is now struggling to even start, when he used to be one of the bright rising stars in the NBA.

Re: Which NBA player's stock has fallen the most?

That was a dumb comment, STS. Iverson has scored 30 ppg in each of the last 2 years. His team might not have done so well, but his stock is definately not declining. Since he's in Denver now, and they are playoff bound, and the media attention he is getting....His stock is very high right now...Chris Webber, Peja Stoakovic, Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis and Antoine Walker were some of the ones I thought of. I think Steve Francis is #1 personally. He used to be a star player in Orlando/Houston. Now he is a scrub/ballhog guard on the Knicks. He isn't even playing this season. His stock hit rock bottom.

Living in Cleveland I would have to say Larry Hughes' stock has fallen. When he was in Washington he was a great player who you could rely on getting 20-25 points per game and playing solid defense too. Now he's always hurt and doesn't fit in with Cleveland is trying to do.

CB4 mentioned him as well. It was just a few years ago that Francis was the main piece of Tracy McGrady deal. He was dealt with Cato, and Mobley as well, but Francis was the big piece that Orlando was getting. Few seasons ago, Marbury was traded for Jason Kidd that landed Marbury in Phoenix and Kidd in New Jersey. In both deals, McGrady and Kidd both have relatively high stock while Francis and Marbury have petty low stock. It also hurts them that they play in New York who have major cap problems and they have huge contracts. Here's another player that comes to mind, but isnt really like the two others. Grant Hill. His days in Orlando have been pretty bad. He was suppose to come to Orlando and play with McGrady and lead Orlando to the promise land. A few major leg injuries have set him back and limited his play. Back in his Piston days, he was regarded as "The Next", and was really an untouchable in a trade scenerio because his stock and play was so high. Now none of this is his fault, but since he has came to Orlando, his stock has fallenn significantly.

Jason Richardson comes to mind, his scoring numbers are down drastically compared to recent years. His all around game doesn't seem to be a factor this year. He can't seem to get it together.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blitzburgh55 @ Jan 13 2007, 10:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Micheal Finely was great for the Mavs now he is coming off the bench for the Spurs</div>Finley is a key contributer off the Spurs bench, his stock has fallen off much. He's still a good shooter and veteran leader. He's 33-34 years old, you can't expect him to be the same player he was a few years ago.

His best season he was averaging 12 and 6. He's now averaging 9 and 5.

JRich has been injured, that's the primary reason that his stock has fallen.Steve Francis fits the bill perfectly. Good call Valo.Add Kenyon Martin to the list.

Re: Which NBA player's stock has fallen the most?

I am not saying this cause I am a Knick fan but obviously I watch them and Marbury I remember throughout his career the fact he is the point guard has touched the ball majority of the time. When coming to New York the only player other than himself to get touches was Jamal Crawford but in the past 2 yrs under Larry Brown and now Isiah Thomas more guards come in and touch the ball with Nate Robinson and Steve Francis being acquired. You saw whether it was in Minnesota, New Jersey, Phoenix, or his 1st 2 seasons in New York, it has been Marbury bringing up the ball, gettin the assists, doing the drive to the baskets. The Knicks now have 3 more guys who can play point guard doing all that and it makes no sense. If you have been following the Knicks' last 13 games. Marbury's stat book (around 21 ppg/7 apg), the absense of Robinson and Francis, and the team winning 7 games you'll see what I just explained. You will see the Knicks be better if they get rid of Francis, play all their young high energy players off the bench, play better defense and give Marbury control 90% of the time.So with that I think that is why Stephon Marbury has declined and I think that is why for this question the answer has to be Steve Francis out of everybody mentioned.

Re: Which NBA player's stock has fallen the most?

Chris Webber is the biggest I can think of personally. I mean, sure you have Francis and Peja, guys like that who are also big ones, but Webber was an all-star and a beast a couple years back. In his last year with the Kings he was getting about 21/10 per game. Then he has that knee problem and he heads out for Philly, and now, just take a look at this picture from NBA.com:[IMG]No Webber! To go from a "Top-Dog," to knee problem, to contract buy-out, to not even on the NBA.com Players list. That is a serious drop in stock.

It is much higher than it was the padt 2 years, so it is actually increasing. And they are 2 games behind .500. They aren't doing really well right now, but they have a good shot at making the playoffs, so I would NOT call them a "sorry ass team".
