Through 6 playoff games whiteside is averaging.... 13.7 points on 73.3% shooting. 4.5 ft attempts on 59.3% shooting. 11.3 rebounds. 3.2 blocks If they're losing to the Hornets, it's wades fault. That's not whiteside's team... he play 29 minutes...
Dwight Howard. Said it at the deadline and I'll keep saying it. Dwight would thrive in Portland and I've had the sense for awhile now that he wants to play with Lillard If we got Howard we could use Plumlee at PF. Imagine Plumlee throwing lobs to Dwight from the high post ala Camby-LA. Cake.
Fully agree. I think Plumlee would be great at PF, at the high post- with a true post player/defender manning the middle. Just let Plums pick apart defenses from the top of the key. He has the agility and speed to cover todays PF on the defensive end as well.
You can plug Howard in right away to this system and not miss a beat. Cousins would need a lot of touches and readjusting the offense. He's also taking WAY too many jumpers and drifting from the hoop.
The last thing I want is an expensive centerpiece who doesn't seem to give a damn about hoops + is clearly sliding physically, so B would be the only option of the two that I'd consider. DMC for CJ would be great if and only if, Cousins was fully on board with it. STOMP
I don't understand why anyone would want Howard when whiteside is available. What exactly does Howard have over him?
He might be available? Sure, Whiteside is going to be a FA, but he's going to get max offers from a lot of teams. Not sure the Blazers make the cut. Howard's value is down a notch and he's looking for a contract a team on its way up. Blazers might fill the bill.
I think if I'm whiteside, Portland looks like the most desirable team in the nba. I think a lot of players around the league would love to be part of what's going on here. Could you imagine all of the individual egos that need to be stroked in that locker room in miami? In my mind, it's going to be 4 teams in the whiteside hunt. Lakers, Knicks, Portland, Miami. Idk who whiteside will pick, but portland has a shot. And regardless, Howard is cancer.
Good question. Depends on: (1) Howard's back. Not too long ago, I thought he was toast because of his bad back. Now? IDK? (2) Howard's cost. If he's willing to forgo a huge contract and/or take a two year deal with a team option for year three, because he just wants to play in a positive environment for a change, and possibly be the final piece for a championship, then I'd have to consider him. (3) Howard's attitude. See (2) above. If he'd do (2), surely he'd be on board with whatever Stotts and Dame tell him his role is on the team, right? I think Dame+CJ+the mythical Dwight Howard I described above is better than Dame+Boogie (and his supposedly questionable brain).
Is he? He might be. But is that impression based on more than the fact he didn't get along with Kobe (is Shaq a cancer too? Because Shaq clearly hates Kobes guts.), and he doesn't seem to like playing with Harden (who the fuck would?).
Yikes. Apparently DMC is having foot problems that "get more painful every year." At his size this will only get worse. Foot problems for bigs are just as bad as knee issues.
No wonder he always looks like he's in a pissy mood. And I thought it was just from being stuck in Sacto.
I'm just going off of what has happened to every team he's been on. Coaches being fired, teams blowing up, etc. If this was the Orlando Howard, I think the risk would be worth it though.
