Gerald, for the past 2 games, has not been shooting very well. He needs to be a top scorer for this team right now. He can't hesitate, and he REALLY needs to take better care of the basketball. Last night, Gerald had too many unforced turnovers. He needs to shoot well, get into a groove offensively, take better care of the ball... and prey that Rip doesn't score 40 on him.

First of all, the Celtics NEED to get Big Al the ball more than they have been the past couple nights. I don't understand why they go away from him. Sheed is going to be a VERY tough assignment for Al, considering he's effective inside and outside, plus he's a good defender. We'll see if Big Al can redeem himself here.

CelticBalla's Extra Thoughts/Notes
Yay.

CelticBalla's Prediction
Detroit wins by 15+.

When did Tony Allen get injured?? He's out for the season!?! Yeesh.. the guy was just starting to get into a good groove. [IMG]I'm obviously rooting for Boston in this one to beat Detroit because it would help the Wizards. I know they won't win, but without Billups, the Pistons are also a bit sidetracked.

TA got injured Wednesday night with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. He went up for a dunk, then came down awkwardly on his left leg. He went straight to the ground in pain, he tore his ACL and MCL. He'll be out for at least 6 months.

im gonna start writing 1st half analysis' like CB32 does at the end of the games...I figured id do more than just post a one liner about how I feelBoston Celtics: 43Detroit Pistons: 49Al Jefferson: 4 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 TO on 2-8 shooting in 19 minutesAl Could do a little better on the offensive end..but hes definitely been a force on the boards so far this half..im loving his intensity there but he's just not doing much on offense..his moves aren't really working and lack existence.Ryan Gomes: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 TO on 3-6 shooting in 24 minutesRyan has been excellent so far..he's been playing aggresive and finishing plays when we need them. He's not taking too many shots but he doesn't have to..he has been taking good shots and getting to the line a lot.Rajon Rondo: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 TO on 1-4 shooting in 7 minutesThere isn't much to say..hes done decent but I mean he hasn't gotten many minutes..he just needs to make more of the oppurtunities he gets..hopefully he will pick it up in the second half and hopefully Doc plays him a bit more. (I wanna see a Bassy/Rondo combo more)Gerald Green: 13 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 2 TO on 6-11 shooting in 18 minutesI love Gerald being more aggresive and taking HIS shots instead of trying to force them or not taking them at all. He has been great, as our leading scorer through the first half and is definitely playing well..hes missed a few shots he should of made but I'm not going to bash him because he's been scoring well even if he isnt filling up the whole stat sheet..hes a scorer and thats what he's doing.Leon Powe: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 0 assists, 1 block, 1 TO on 1-1 shooting in 8 minutesLeon has been great..but like Rondo and Ray he has barely played at all..but when he was in there I loved his intensity and overall play.Sebastian Telfair: 7 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 1 TO on 3-7 shooting in 16 minutesBassy is playing alright..he isnt playing phenomenal but hes dishing the ball and setting up guys for good shots..I love the way hes dishing the rock..hes doing pretty good shooting but sometimes he tries to force his own shots.Kendrick Perkins: 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 TO on 1-1 shooting in 8 minutesPerk had a pretty sweet 18-footer which was his only shot and basket..haha..but besides that he has been in foul trouble and kind of screwed himself out of playing time giving Kandi man more of an oppurtunity to play..Perk doesn't always get the big numbers but hes a big body in there...Michael Olowokandi: 1 point, 1 rebound, 0 assists on 0-1 shooting in 8 minutesKandi has pretty much sucked...hes done nothing worth talking about...he also air balled a free throw if anybody cares to know...I have nothing to say about Kandi's play...plus it hasnt been a lot of time regardlessAllan Ray: 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 TO on 0-1 shooting in 5 minutesLike Kandi..he hasnt done anything at all when he was in there..Ray was playing point guard I think..at least that's how it appeared and he got burned a lotAnalysis: The Celtics are playing well and the guys expected to step up are stepping up..we are playing one of the best teams in the east and have been hanging with them the whole game...the key in the second half is to get the ball to Big Al and for him to execute..keep getting the ball to Gerald..and for Bassy to keep setting guys up for good shots..DEFENSE wouldnt hurt

I want to know how Rondo plays great last game, and only gets 7 minutes in the first half? Whatever.....Im used to it by now.I cant watch the game because I am at my dads and he doesn't have NBA league pass, but from the sounds of it, the Celtics are doing incredibly bad considering they are without a shitload of people. I guess it helps that the Pistons dont have Billups.

We showed great fight, tonight. I loved what I saw from the kids tonight. Except for the last few minutes, we were there all night.

Gerald Green
24 points (career high), 1 rebound, 1 block on 10-20 shooting, 2-4 3FG
Gerald played really well tonight. He was aggressive offensively and he didn't settle for 3's. He took it right at Rip and Delfino, and he came off screens beautifully. He got a career high in scoring, but how he did it was what I loved. Gerald really played well tonight. Gerald actually made 2-3 good defensive plays as well.

Al Jefferson
12 points, 22 rebounds (career high), 2 blocks on 5-16 shooting
You see the 5-16 shooting, and you are mad. However, he did play a very solid game. He's in a scoring slump right now, but I am very happy the team got him the damn ball tonight. But he was an absolute monster on the glass tonight, consistently in every quarter. I would have liked for him to make more of those close shots, but he made up for it, in a way.

Ryan Gomes
17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists on 6-16 shooting, 5-5 FT
Gomes played well out there tonight. He looked a LOT more comfortable at the 3 than he did last night, but he also battled down low for loose balls and rebounds as though he was at the 4 again. That's what you want to see, the aggressiveness. Gomes brought it tonight.

Sebastian Telfair
9 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists, 2 blocks on 4-14 shooting, 1-4 3FG
Bassy had a good first quarter. He knocked down some jumpers and he played smart. The entire second half, for Bassy, was a nightmare. He shot 1-9 in the second half, and he left Flip open too often.

Kendrick Perkins
2 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block on 1-4 shooting
Perk with the pull-up 20 footer at the end of the shot clock: got it! [IMG] that was awesome. But he got into some foul trouble. He made a beautiful lob pass to Al, who didn't convert on it, and he made some excellent hustle plays. He ran the floor well to get back defensively.

Rajon Rondo
4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal on 2-6 shooting in 18 mins
It's amazingly stupid that Rondo didn't play more tonight, after a career night last night and with Bassy sucking in the entire second half. Just, wow. Rondo played pretty well tonight. He fought on the glass and ripped some away from the tree's and he penetrated well.

Michael Olowokandi
1 point, 3 rebounds, 1 block on 0-2 shooting, 1-2 FT in 18 mins
[IMG] he aired a free throw. But he did ok out there, I guess. He changed a couple shots defensively, and swatted one. Overall, he did nothing great, nothing bad.

Leon Powe
2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block on 1-1 shooting in 15 mins
I wish he would have played a little more, but when he was in there he hustled at a great level, as usual. He just played like Powe: tough.

Allan Ray
2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist on 0-2 shooting (both 3's), 2-2 FT in 8 mins
He missed 2 wide open 3's (especially the 2nd one at the end of the 3rd), but oh well.

Player of the Game: Gerald Green

Well, at least Boston did a good job defending, past 4 games - opponent averages 90PPG.

that's mostly because we've slowed the game down a lot to get fewer possessions. I'm sure if you looked at the fg%, they wouldn't be much lower if at all.

Sheez. When was our last win? Hopefully we can win against Atlanta. It was a good game though, GGreen is a freaking beast. He was knocking down some big shots in the 2nd quarter.
