Parsons, 25, was struck by an SUV while crossing the road. The Michigan native was in Delray Beach, FL, close to the Blackzillians training facility. His leg was injured and partially amputated at the hospital. Parsons is currently in a coma. His family set up a gofundme which has reached its primary goal of $20,000 within the first 24-hours. The driver fled and is being sought by authorities. "Bellator has been informed of a terrible accident that occurred last night involving featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident," the statement read. "We are still in the process of uncovering details and with his family’s consent, hope to have an update on his medical condition soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers. The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Delray Beach Police Department at (561) 243-7800." TMZ says Parsons was wearing headphones and didn't hear the oncoming vehicle.
Parsons had a partial amputation but has now had the entire right leg removed out of necessity. The bleeding was profound and his organs were failing. Still touch-and-go at the moment.
