I don't understand why these idiots can't work the pitch count, it's pathetic.

The Yankees should just let Ortiz to the plate with a bat, ball and a tee.

Holy shit! these guys in the booth are singing the praises of Ortiz like he's the 2nd coming of babe Ruth.

Ortiz BTW: is on pace for 40+ HRs & 125+ RBI. for a 40 year player, Hell Barry Bonds wasn't even close to having this kind of season at 40. His best year after 40 was 26 HRs & 77 RBI. But I'm sure there's nothing going on with Ortiz (wink wink)

2 bad pitches by Severino but for the most part this has to be his best outing this year. 3 hits 1 BB & 8 Ks through 6 innings. Unfortunately our lack of offense has returned.

As I said about Ortiz. Five homers against the Yankees this season. It's an embarrassment.

The all time record for the most HRs by a 40 year old is held by Ted Williams with 29. Ortiz is on pace for approx 45. Gee, how does he do it?

1 hit through 6 innings is pretty pathetic.

Just got in and score checked, disappointing, Sevey with not that bad a line, but the offense took another coffee break. At least the Yankees got the series.

    Interesting.
Ortiz began the season as a 40 year old.

Arod hit his 30th HR last season as a 40 year old and also hit his 30th HR of a season as a 20 year old.
He's the only player in MLB history to hit his 30th HR of a season as a 20 year old and 30th HR of a season as a 40 year old.

More seriously, and hopefully(?), this could be the season that gets Cashman canned.
Age has already affected CC and Arod and Ellsbury looks as if he's doing his best to prove he is "always" getting injured.
Personally I have let the string run out on Cashman until this year.
We all know I gave him a "pass" for the last couple of seasons.
I had no problem holding out regarding Cashman but as I said last year, if the Yanks take a step backwards in 2016 or aren't more successful - I'll personally pull the switch on him.
Anxious too see when or if he shakes up the roster and goes to the farmhands sooner than later.

But, I'm also one of the few who wouldn't mind cleaning house and dumping Girardi.
Just not impressed with his "style" of managing. Something's missing.

His "teams" seem to be too dam laid back, robotic and predictable.
Not EVERYONE on the team is 36-40 years old for crissakes.
