This thread is about guys who are very very good scorers, but might not get the touches to average 20-30 PPG like Arenas, LeBron, Kobe, etc. do. One guy that may make me sound biased is Gerald Green. Recently he's been pouring in a bunch more points than his 8.3 a game indicates. All of the injuries has given him a chance to finally look for his shot, and he's been scoring double figures. Ricky Davis is another guy. With Garnett in Minnesota and him being merely a wing player, he doesn't see as many touches as he did in Boston and Cleveland. But I think that the amount of touches he gets severely affects how much he can put the ball in the net. He has a pretty good midrange game and is a good driver. Given the touches I think he can be a 20 PPG scorer.
Well obviously Josh Howard is one of those guys. He's averaging close to 20 ppg now, as the second option on the Mavs. If he was the main option, I'm sure he'd be up in the 23-25 ppg range.

Rasard Lewis, Lamar Odom, and Shaquille O'Neal are all pretty good 2nd options. Lewis and Odom have simlar games and to me are a little underated. O'Neal is the ageing big man who can still put up a great game from time to time.

I guess that still counts though....Andrea Bargnani will be #1 in about 3 years.uhhhhhhhh.........well..Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince are both good scorers. Richard Jefferson, Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison, Tony Parker, Rashard Lewis, Josh Howard, Jason Terry...

Hes averaging around 15 I think, not sure how many shots a game. But I remember when I posted I looked at his stats for any trends, and 2 years he shot upwards of like 18 shots a game, he averaged nearly 20 points. I also don't see how you can definatively say Bargnani will be #1. I think he will be a very good scorer, but the number 1 second option in the NBA? I don't know about that. That's debatable.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CB4AllStar @ Jan 14 2007, 09:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I think he'll average 20+ ppg for sure.</div>Alrighty. You're mighty high on these Raptors arent you. Ford's gonna average 20 and 10 too, Parker and Garbajosa are going to average 16 a game, Peterson too. Right?
You got to have Caron Butler on this list. He is an amazingly good 2nd option next to Arenas.. and he's probably one of the top 5 consistent players in the league. He can do it all: scoring, rebounding, passing, etc. Tony Parker is a great sidekick to Tim Duncan, as well.

And I don't know about Garbajosa and Parker. But they are just role players. I never said they would each get 16 ppg. Parker is a 12 ppg guy, and Garbajosa will give you 10 off of smart play and a solid mid range game.I don't think TJ will ever get 20 points, because Bargnani and Bosh are the 1st and 2nd options. I think 17/18 and 9 is about right for him. And then Bryan Colangelo will go get us some other solid players.Raptors in 3-4 years = great team
Butler (even though he does average 20 ppg...) and Barbosa are pretty high up there. Shawn Marion too...
Lamar Odom and Rashard Lewis immediately come to mind. Gerald Green will be there in the next year or two. There's also richard jefferson, shawn marion, maybe you could count rip hamilton (even tho he leads his team in scoring, he just seems like one of those guys).
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pacers fan forever @ Jan 14 2007, 11:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Rashard Lewis</div> :happy0144: Although he wasn't that impressive when Ray was out. Plus its the sonics system that allows him to score as much as he does. I'd be surprised if he could do it on another team that plays D

He has improved a lot this year (especially defensively), but he's not a second option yet. We have Pierce as our first option, an inconsistent/banged up Wally, and a bunch of young players that score 20 one night and 8 the next. Nobody on our team is a valid second option in the NBA yet. Yet, the key word. I do believe that Gerald and Big Al will be a big part of our future, and I could see a guy like Gerald taking over the scoring load in his prime, when Pierce is on the downfall. But, I definitely have to agree with Ricky. He has been a 20/5/5 type player before. He's a good player, and I believe he's very overlooked as a scorer in this league. People know he can score, and people give him some credit, but not enough. When he's on, he can be just as lethal as most guys in the league.Another guy I want to mention is Corey Maggette, no doubt. He's a very good player, and it's a shame that he's having issues in LA. He is built like a bull, he can take it to the basket, he will drain open shots, and he's an athletic freak. I think Corey Maggette is one of the most overlooked players in the league.
J.R. Smith? He's struggling the last couple of games though but he's been a good complimentary scorer for Anthony before the brawl.

Just guys all around who would score a lot more points given proper touches. But still I see where you're coming from.
One that hasnt been mentioned is Manu Ginobili. Earlier this season, Manu wasn't playing all that great, and I think that part of that was due to injury last year, and he was still getting in to better game shape. But as of the last 5 games, he has really turned things on. He has been leading the Spurs in scoring almost every night as of late, and he isnt taking a whole lot of shots to do it. He is the 3rd option on the Spurs right now and he is putting up a decent amount of points. If he was taking around 20 shots a night, I know that he would be a player to score 25+. Although that will never happen because I dont ever see him being a number one option, if he did get that many shot attempts up a night, he could very easily be a big scorer. Although I think you could say that for alot of players, Manu can score in so many different ways its ridiculous. He has a very good 3 point shot (DEADLY as of late), he has a good mid range, he is acrobatic around the basket and can finish, he can score of defense, and he is a very good free throw shooter. He can do it all...
