The reason Meyers will get the figure he will be offered is because other teams value him more than posters on S2 do.
I do not think we should match any sort of big multi year offer that Leonard gets. I wouldn't be against bringing him back for a year though.
The CAP is estimated at $92M. The Blazers have $46.7M in guaranteed salary. That leaves $45.3M in space. Here are the CAP holds: - G Henderson: $9.0M (unrestricted) - M Leonard: $7.7M (restricted) - M Harkless: $7.2M (restricted) - C Kaman: $6.5M (unrestricted) - B Roberts: $3.7M (unrestricted) - A Crabbe: $1.2M (restricted) To get an idea how much these guys will sign for: * Last year, the mid-level exception was about $5.5M. Those are the players at the end of the starter list, or first couple in. I see both Crabbe and Harkless in that range. Now considering the cap will be increasing approximately 31%, we can expect that 'mid-level' pay range (I'm not referring to the MLE) to go to at least 5.5 x 1.31 = $7.2M. With the CAP expected to rise again the year after next, we will probably see teams easily going over that number to bring in 'medium' talent. * Also, John Henson with Milwaukee recently signed an extension for 4 years at $11M/yr. He's a big that was drafted #14 in 2012. That same year, Meyers was drafted #11, and Harkless was drafted #15. I'm sure both will be using this number as an approximate gauge of starting negotiations. If the Blazers are looking to acquire a max-free agent, here are the estimated ranges: The estimated Max contracts will be: 0-6 yr NBA vet, 25% of CAP, $23,000,000 7-9 yr NBA vet, 30% of CAP, $27,600,000 (Durant, Horford) 10+ yr NBA vet, 35% of CAP, $32,200,000 (Howard) Let's be optimistic and say we land Horford: * $45.3M - $27.6M = $17.7M space left over Who on our list of free-agents do we bring in for $17.7M? Do we look to other talent like Biyombo, or Ezeli? Keep in mind we can go over the CAP to sign our free agents, as long as we are under the CAP after considering all CAP holds. Here's a post that outlines all of our salaries for next year. It's going to be a fun summer!!
Easy, NEITHER would be fine with me. Hendo only if hes cheap and Meyers I just want to wish him well on his journey to another team
I'm pretty sure this is not right. It would be unusual, even in these times, for a team to sign an RFA to an offer sheet unless they throw near-max type $$ at them - he'd have to be their #1 target. What team is making Biebs their #1 target and also has cap space? The suns? The cap situations listed on basketball-reference.com does not include their cap holds.
