Given how horrible he has been this season it's not surprising that an arm problem has come up. His shaking of his arm while coming off the mound leads me to believe we will see him again sometime after Tommy John Surgery.
...hoping it's only a "triceps strain and 15 day DL" ...regardless, they need to blow this roster up and be serious sellers at the trade deadline. Maybe Cashman will show savvy for a change.
I hope that's all it is but I don't buy it. How many times have you seen triceps pain in a pitcher not spell disaster? The MRI should be interesting in hopes that it doesn't show a tear.
...to be honest, I didn't understand it either. I mean how do they know for sure if he hasn't even had the MRI yet?
I'm guessing DL & I hope its not to serious but I've a feeling that he was heading back down to the minors with the way he was pitching.
Because it was clear to me he just simply quit. No guts, just another typical gas throwing no brain athlete. So now that the lipstick is on the pig, a kid who still has a tremendous future once he gets in touch with his testicles. MAN UP!
...regardless, they need to blow this roster up and be serious sellers at the trade deadline. Maybe Cashman will show savvy for a change. ________________________ Everyone wanted him to show "savvy" last year at the trade deadline. Unfortunately there wasn't going to be much savvy unless Severino, Bird, Judge or Mateo were included and I doubt people were lining up at the chance to acquire Arod, CC, Tex or Beltran. Also a matter of full no-trade clauses. Maybe that is good enough reason why Cashman should've been fired years ago. I'll have to remember this when other GMs sign big name free agents/players. Good to know. I guess it all falls into place for those who wanted Cashman fired way back when he/they extended CC's and Arod's contracts.....or was it when he signed McCann and Ellsbury?.....or was it the Tex deal? Whatever. I thought we've already established the Yanks are "paying" the price for giving huge long term contracts to players into their late 30s for reasons which we've already beaten to death? And one of the ways they are paying is biting the bullet and trying to work around those contracts which I believe they've done a pretty decent job at. (one playoff game away from 2015 ALDS) 2016 will be a very good indication of how "bad" Cashman has been. imho He's managed to work in a couple of moves and trades which will impact the team in 2016 while these big contracts expire.
The only thing that can save Cashman is if some of the prospects pan out. If they don't the only option he would have left is to spend heavily again.
No doubt - and being in last place speaks for itself. Couple things of interest re prospects and younger players. How Castro pans out and whether or not Gregorius continues to progress as the regular SS. I think he and Castro are now kinda part of the same package. The Hicks trade. Definately has the tools and he did begin to show something last year. As some of us have said - if Arod and Beltran go down with long term injuries, we should see Judge up sooner than expected and Sanchez in the mix seeing time at DH and C. Arod long term injury = Beltran becoming the primary DH & Judge called up for RF. Beltran long term injury = Judge RF
Severino, IMO, has obviously become a thrower, not a pitcher, yep a brain dead flamer. I don't see any leadership coming out of the Yanx Pitching Corps, less the bullpen; an easy assumption with its depth of talent. Yet, I don't see any one SP saying follow me. That much is missing, which often is required, a mentality to teach throwers to become mental strategists, with hellacious pitches being developed. Young pitcher's learning, from Vet's. With the future of gloom, I don't see one SP- Vet who commands the respect, to show those who follow, a better path paved by their Senior's....
...I was only referring to the Yanx assuming so quickly that his injury was only a strained instead of a tear without the MRI results.
