His shoulders are still tired from carrying the team all season.

I'm not sure how long he was on there but I found these short clips on ESPN's website.

I want to see the whole segment. You can tell, when he talks about basketball, just how much he studies the game.

This is a great example of why I'd like to keep this guy around for a long time. He's so well spoken and you can tell he puts a lot of thought into the game. He represents himself, and Portland, very well.

He isn't sitting forward in his seat like the other two hosts, but I feel like part of it is camera framing (which means he might have been asked to sit back); if he sat up straight, he'd be way bigger than either of the other two. He wasn't slouching though, just leaning back in his chair.

I really want CJ and Dame to become more than just players for Portland; they know enough that you could see them coaching or running a team. In 25 years, Dame might be the GM (he is the chemistry major!) and CJ might be the coach.

Ya, that could be. It was more tongue and cheek anyway

Yep, just one example..... of many, for both he and Dame.

I trust Neil, but other GM's we have had would make me nervous that they might try and trade one of them for an immediate gain. However I am sure Neil is smart enough to think long term and not short term. Fans sometimes don't.

For example we might think that at this very moment we would be better off with an upgrade at a different position, so lets trade CJ to get it. But the thing is circumstances/depth quickly change in this league, and what we need right now, is often different than what we need in 2 years. Then we wish we had the other guy back.

My preference would be to identify quality players who will want to stay a Blazer for the long term, and build around them. The exception of course would be players who would practically guarantee a championship if we traded for them. But then you are talking abut trading for superstars, and that does not happen very often..if ever.

Dame and CJ are two good building blocks. There might be the occasion where a different player might be a little better (and available) but if they are not as good in the locker room, then the trade would be a wash at best......and a short term one at that.

May not be TNT, But he isnt going into coaching. He is going into media. That's what his degree is in and he has openly admitted wanting as much.

I wanted to be a novelist and got my degree in literature, but I found my real interest in something else. But yeah it's a pipe dream.

He's very PC, never says anything bad about anyone. Obviously, Wade can shoot, but CJ was definitely not going to bring that up.

I think he'd be smarter to do that than coach haha, coaches don't last long. Working for ESPN/TNT can.
