If Lebron left Cleveland again, how much more valuable is their 2018 protected pick? Would be worth a lot more or or only alittle more because Kyrie and Love are still there? I'd love to see us somehow trade our 2018 pick, their protected pick, and other surrounding pieces like plumlee or vonleh for Okafor, then go after Whiteside. Both guys from what I've seen can make a couple outside shots, I'd love to see Okafor in the post with Whiteside being able to hit a consistent midrange shot. Whiteside could mask okafors defensive liabilities and aminu could help mask Damian or CJs. Making crabbe a starter would even improve our defense greatly. Would CJ be okay with coming off the bench while still playing around 35 mins a game? A starting lineup of Lillard/Crabbe/Aminu/Okafor/Whiteside with CJ as 6th man would be pretty good.

I was interested before, but not after, our series with GS. I'd rather have the players already on our team. Although he still may thrive somewhere else by getting out from under the Curry/Thompson/Green shadow.

Luckily his agent will understand the timing and not hold it against Neil. I hope.

I would welcome ZBo back but the howls from local media would hurt my ears, LOL.

Well, there are lots of posts showing the cap situation. Maybe you can find something. Maybe there is some way to make a trade?Sometimes you gotta give up something to get something better.

Okay, I'm swinging for the fences on this and going beyond the Blazers to include some major changes from a few other teams.

My predictions over the next year going into the next post season are as follows:

1st Place.....GS with 66 wins. They don't make any real changes and lose in the conference Finals.
2nd Place...Clippers with 63 wins. They will make a move to improve their bench and will be healthy all year. This will be their best season, but will be bounced in the second round.
3rd Place...Blazers with 57 wins. How? Because NO pulled a rabbit out of his ass and convinced KD to come join the party and win big. KD makes this move because they only win one game againts GS this post season.
4th Place...Minnesota with 54 wins. Thibbs Thibbs Thibbs. He finally gets the cart turned in the right direction and its all about D.
5th Place...Lakers with 50 wins. Fuck the Lakers and Hollywood. With Kobe's money they make a couple moves to compliment their young core and surprise everyone by somehow getting D.Cousins and C. Anthony to join them. Fucking hate them!!!
6th Place... NO with 50 wins. This is the season AD wins MVP and NO makes the jump with AD finally playing in 70+ games.
7th Place...Utah with 48 wins. No major changes sand they are still a main piece away but are now stuff in purgatory with little growth left.
8th Place....Memphis with 47 wins. Conley walks, but they bring in Mozgov to help keep Gasol healthy. Also stuck in purgatory.

    This seasons remaining post season:

GS beats OKC 4-1. Durant sees that Aldridge lost after leaving us and didn't do anything. HE then gets smoked by GS in the conference finals and sees the big picture. The best chance of beating GS is to join Portland.
GS beats Cleveland in 7 denying LBJ again. GS goes down as the greatest single season team ever., dethroning MJ's 70 win Bulls. However the majority of the public will always believer the Bulls would take GS.

Next seasons playoffs look like this:

    GS sweeps memphis 4-0
    Clippers beat Utah 4-2
    Blazers beat NO 4-1
Minnesota beats the Lakers in 7

    2nd Round:

    GS beats Memphis 4-1
    Blazers sweep the Clippers

And the series EVERYONE has been talking about since we lost this year.... The conference finals will be the Blazers vs GS. The rematch of this years second round. This will bring life back into the NBA like it hasn't seen in a while as the true David and Goliath storybook ending as we defeat them in 6 on our home court.

    NBA finals

We lose in 6 to Cleveland. LBJ finally gets Cleveland a ring...however it will be his only one.

The following season 2017-2018, Blazers will dominate the west, winning the number 1 seed with 67 wins, besting GS by three and ride their home court all the way to a PARADE DOWNTOWN BABY!!!!!!!

Mark it. My wife owns a crystal ball and I inquired and so it will be!!!!

With the Magic totally unstable this is the perfect time to poach Nikola Vucevic.

We would *really* have to sell them on Vonleh's upside.

We could sell them on Plumlee's upside instead...

I don't know why people think Plumlee is going anywhere. Dude balled hard this season and knows what he needs to work on this summer. You'd be foolish to not wait at least until the trade deadline.

In my eyes these guys are a lock to be here when the regular season tips off next year.

    Dame
    CJ
    Aminu
    Harkless
    Plumlee
    Davis

    Likely to be back
    Crabbe

On the fence about whether team will bring them back
    Henderson
    Meyers
    Rookie Scale guys

    Possible trade bait
    Roberts
    Vonleh
    Rookie Scale guys

Hey, In the time I quoted you, you changed it from what I thought I was quoting. This quote is different than the post above. lol.

I was going to say one of either Hendo or Crabbe is also a lock.

I'd add Crabbe, and I could see Plumlee going out in trade if necessary.

Interesting. I guess he could be considered our most valuable "expendable" piece, but I also think he will continue to improve which would warrant holding on to him.

Looking at his FG% it was actually at an all time low this year (roughly the same attempts), which I think is because he played around the rim so much with the Nets vs high pick and roll here. Then you look at his FT% (again roughly the same attempts) which went up from 50%-65%, and can't help but wonder if he has it in him to develop some kind of outside shot. Granted FT's are all about routine, and you'll rarely see the same shot twice in one game.

I think what it boils down to for Plums is the development of an outside shot. If he can develop that then he is worth keeping long term, if not then he is probably at his peak value right now.

TLDR: You're still somewhat buying into potential with Plumlee. I'd roll the dice on him and hope he develops a mid range game.

I can see both sides of it; the way our team is constructed, you'd only want to trade a rotation guy if you could get back an upgrade in talent or much better fit at the same position. Vucavic could be worth it.

The advanced stats aren't too different, slightly favoring Plumlee, idk if Vuvevic is the guy we should really go after.
