Saw Steinbrenners opinions on the Yankees failures pointing out the usual suspects mentioned on this board. Granted Steinbrenner was correct in his individual assessments except for one person and that's the guy who assembles this mess. The man doesn't get it on Cashman not at all. And his approval on those moves especially on A-hole and Sabathia are on him. Not a Wallace Matthews fan but his article reads true. Steinbrenner need to suck it up, admit his mistakes, and improve or sell the team to a caring ownership group.

Saying he doesn't blame Cashman only tells me that he needs to book himself into some club to do a stand up comedy routine. And as the article mentions, he may also want to look into the mirror when placing blame.

Great article 59, this one was long over due for print:

    (excerpt)

But there is little to no question that in many cases, the wrong players were signed, for too long and for too much money, and over the past two seasons, that bill has come due with a vengeance.

You can point the finger of blame at those players for under-performing, or you can point it at the man who thought they were worth investing in.

That man was Hal Steinbrenner, and while he was pointing fingers today, the right thing to do would have been to point one at himself, too.

the tadpole(s), obviously weren't paying attention when Dad was running the greatest Org. on Earth....
