    Hello darkness, my old friend
Ha. Huge fail on my part. Thanks. I guess the two names next to each other put Spurs on my brain. Sorry, 42N8Bounce.

Went back and edited my list to account for that.

Went a little low on the FPG estimate? I got him at around 9 at least.

There are not enough Jimmy Butlers on this list.

No, keep CJ and Dame together. Though if I was PHI CJ would be one of the higher targets on my radar, and I'd give up a lot to get him. Imagine an influx of CJ, Simmons, and 55M or so worth of FA? You'd likely be able to keep 2 of Embiid, Noel, Okafor and Saric,

CJ/Hollis Thompson/Simmons/Okafor/Dwight Howard with Landry, Stauskas off the bench (and 30M or so to spare in FA) would be significantly decent in the East.

We probably wouldn't be the best fit for trade, as the MIA or OKC 1sts this year, plus (say) Noel, Saric and Covington wouldn't be as appealing to us as CJ and Vonleh or Plumlee. That's probably the bones of what they'd have to come up with. I still would say no, but it becomes interesting at that point.

I think Philly, Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans, Brooklyn, and Houston are all going to blow it up and start from scratch...perfect time to nab a Marc Gasol or Brook Lopez type player.

I forgot all about Brook. He would work well with this team and a bit younger than the others.

Hmmm. Go after Brook and Williams( Trusting Bones Jones here)?
Push Plums to the bench with AMinu?

I think Plums will be a trading chip if we get a starting center as an FA. Ed Davis is a keeper and seems okay off the bench, but I don't know if Plums will be okay to come off the bench.

Good point and id be fine with that. Davis is a solid backup overall.

So what your saying is trade Plums back to Brooklyn for Brook? ;) I LIKE it!

Seriously, I wonder what it would take at this point and whether they would even want Plums back. Maybe a three team trade for someone who can use Plums?

I like Plumlee a lot more than Davis, but agree that he's probably best utilized in a trade. But 'd much rather trade Ed than Plumlee if the return was equal.

I guess it's horses for courses. Plums is a decent starter, but Davis is a great bench player. If you upgrade like for like, and get a better starter, you might as well use a chip where you have it.

One thing I've noticed about Mason is he is an east coast guy all the way..family, friends, etc...he might prefer to play in the east since he's home based there

My real hope, and our biggest need, is a rim protecting big that is also a great pick and roll defender. A big that knows how to defend the pick and roll will help Dame and C.J. tremendously on the defensive end.

This is why Al Horford would be such a great fit in POR. This article is over a year old and the author gushes a bit too much, but he's right on about Horford's pick and roll defense. He's not spectacular, but may be the most fundamentally sound big man defender this side of Tim Duncan. He's always in the right position with his arms extended in the passing lanes. He doesn't get a lot of spectacular blocks, but he uses his length well both on the perimeter and in the paint. He blocks 1.5 shots per game, alters many more and is always among the leaders in lowest opponent FG% within 6 feet of the basket.

And, that's just on the defensive end. He's an efficient low post scorer and is equally effective running the pick and roll and diving to the basket, or running the pick and pop and knocking down the mid-range jump shot.

He'd really compliment Dame and C.J. at both ends of the court. He'd fill so many of our needs (rim protection, pick and roll defense, reliable 3rd scorer, low post offense, etc.). I've been gushing over Paul Millsap, but in many ways Horford is an even better fit. I hope there is some way Olshey can convince Horford that POR is the best destination and fit for him.

Perhaps, but he seemed quite happy playing here in POR. I'm sure that's mostly due to the chemistry with his teammates and playing for a coach that empowered him to expand his game.

Aside from the ridiculous pipe dream of Durant, this really would be the best possible outcome this summer. I refuse to hold my breath and be once again disappointed by Portland's inability to lure/keep a marquee free agent, but I am inwardly hoping for the best.

There's not much Philly has to do to blow it up.

I really think it will depend on if ATL decides to stay the course and re-sign Horford to a max contract, or let him walk and start a rebuild. After winning 60 games and having the No. 1 seed in the East in 2014-15, they went cheap and let DeMarre Carroll walk for nothing. That's doesn't exactly show a commitment to winning. and it was reflected in their record as they dropped from 60 wins to 48 wins. I hope Horford realizes this and sees POR as a team on the way up, rather than the way down and that his skill set will help take us to that next level.

Michael Jordan shall come out of retirement and we will sign him to a vet minimum deal. Mike will then recruit LeBron AND Durant AND Horford.

    Dame
    Jordan
    LeBron
    Durant
    Horford

    It shall be done.
