I use to be that ass hole kid with top 3 loudest car in bend that seargents stereo had metered anyway. It didnt take long to grow up and turn it down in neighborhoods though. As for waving, i was smoking a stogie in the back yard last night, waved to everyone that walked by. I dont know what race has to do with it, my neighborhood is probably 70% black and only one young punk didnt wave back, but i cant blame him, id hate me too if i was that age walking cause i dont have a car and my second truck is just chilling in the yard not being driven. Suck my balls kid, stay off my lawn.
So I think this is a situation where both are right and wrong. @Fonzthecpt1, he never said he flipped the person off, that was your addition but he just said he didn't wave back and looked at the BMW in disgust. I get that, if you were having a relaxing time gardening or whatever and someone rolled by with loud music, it would annoy you, wouldn't it? On the other hand Bodyman, it is true that you would most likely be a happier person if you didn't let simple things like this get under your skin. It's just someone who wasn't being curious, but maybe he didn't realize how loud he was, or just wasn't thinking about that at the time. Perhaps he just turned it up because he got to his favorite lyrics or beat, and that just brought him intense joy. Sometimes people just don't contemplate the bigger picture. No, you aren't racist for being annoyed at this, but you might be better off letting little things like this not piss you off in the first place. Of course, time of day matters here. But you posted this in the middle of the day on a weekend, not 2am on a Thursday. 2am on a Thursday would make me livid, 2 pm on the weekend would be inconsequential to me.
I had a crappy night last Tuesday. Tied up to the dock at the Red Lion in Vancouver, just below the Interstate bridge. A guy was going to delivery me a boat part there the next morning. Bad place to stay, several people down on the dock, smoking shit until the wee hours. One with a car backed up to rail above, doors open playing shit on the stero. The fucker would rattle your teeth. Man that weapon above would do the trick, a 40mm launcher loaded with a M2 belt! Probably need school to run that though. Better stick with my carbine. I left it in a safe spot and bit my lip. MF's.
Cars go by so quick that raising my blood pressure over some bass doesnt seem worth it. If i had a neighbor constantly thumping at night and it kept me up id probably just ask them if they wouldnt mind turning it down at night. My neighbors all seem chill though, we all have a night or 2 where our music is up but usually by sun down everyone turns it down. If someone said something to me id apologize and oblige. Most neighbors play rap during their parties, im more the odd ball ass hole that plays country and rock, but cant really hear mine passed my yard and i turn it down by 7.
I use to be like that. Man i wish i had listened to mom. Im not quite 30 and have some hearing problems already. I cant hear conversations in front of me if there is back ground noise, every now and then my ears just hear a high pitch ring like i got hit with a flashbang grenade in call of duty.
I don't turn down my music when I enter a neighborhood. If someone has a problem with that then it's their problem. I bet if you had (have?) kids you'd let them play outside, which your neighbors could hear which would bug them as well. So you're sarcastically calling yourself racist, and youre doing so because you noticed there were minorities in the car? Weird.
Ha! I thought about playing some Willy Nelson for those dudes on the dock the other night. But no way will my stuff in the boat compete with the car rig they had going. Probably hear that sucker in Jantzen Beach.
I played some traditional celtic music the other night while a buddy and i sipped some beer. We got some funny looks by passers by but i dont care i love me some celtic pipes flute and fiddle. And by night i mean like 5 pm.
Old fisherman was saying he should have flipped him off, with both hands. I understand this isn't what bodyman did, and I'm proud of him for that cause some people would have... It would definitely annoy me. I was annoyed to hear my neighbors bass at 3 am Saturday morning(not super loud but could still hear it, it was like they turned it low enough to where they thought nobody would be able to hear it). Similar situation, HOA neighborhood. I thought about calling the cops but I have a strong feeling this dude is going through some ish in his life right now so I ignored it and fell asleep. You sure are right about not contemplating the bigger picture. Sounds like I'm guilty of that here, and I always welcome a chance to learn and grow. Sounds like this man has a history of rude and endangering behavior, something I didn't consider. It would be hard for me to wave at anybody who puts kids lives at risk, and I too would have stared so that I could have been aware of the surroundings. Still don't think it warrants flipping him off even if he is a sack of manure.
You claim I am the one that is wrong for not talking politely to the noise makers. I say Bull Shit. There is a time for talk, and there is a time for action. A mature person would take the time to talk BEFORE THEY PLAY MUSIC TOO LOUD. Example, I have a neighbor that occasionally yells over the fence. “Bad day at work today, going to take my frustrations out on my drum set, let me know if I get too loud”. Then he buttons up his garage and beats away, it kind of calms him down. He never plays too loud, especially compared to cars driving by that play music loud enough to be heard from three blocks away. Let’s get something straight. Loud music can be a form of pollution. Just like smoke in the air, or, chemicals in the water. Loud music can hurt people. Loud music can be a form of torture. That is why the United Nations has banned loud music when interrogating prisoners. Loud music can be a weapon. The USA used hard rock music to get Noriega to surrender during the invasion of Panama. Anyone that intentionally causes me harm on my property with loud music is going to get the single finger two hand wave, at the least. If they want to talk about it, it would make me very happy to brand the message into their hide. Anyone so immature they play music loud enough to harm others, is too immature to talk to, regardless of their age. Although I do cut the kids just graduating from high school some slack. Their loud noise is temporary, and most of them will outgrow it. People older than high school age have already made the selfish decision they do not want to talk it. They have been told many times that playing music too loud is wrong. Keep your loud music on your property. But if you pollute my property, get ready for action, and not a friendly greeting.
I'm not a fan of the sub woofer at all but that doesn't bother me nearly as much as my neighbor burning huge slash piles on every clear sunny day I have off to be home and work outside...after a winter of rain he fills the mountain with nasty smoke...can't even open the window in my house....I finally walked over and asked why he chose windy clear days to do this and he said it was a job he needed to do....I said, you can do this on a rainy day or calm day and respect our needs to breath at home as well....he burned again the next day....some people live in a fucking inconsiderate bubble of selfish behavior
Sorry I haven't been back. At Universal Studios with a bunch of Asian motherfuckers. It's awesome by the way.
Back in 73 I bought a FIAT 128 A ;little shit box car. I was the first in my neighborhood to make 12" woofer boxes that fit in the trunk. I played the Doobies and Little Feat on the first day Screw that Jay z or other irrelevant rap music. Woofers were meant for Rock Bands !!!
