Just saw an article on ESPN stating that my old buddy "Junkie Josh" Hamilton will have season ending knee surgery and will be paid 28 million this season. Another "hero" like Big Sloppi who hasn't got caught, and our old buddy A-hole who was yet remains a pathological liar. At age 35 this could be the end of the line for old buddy Josh.

Management is center isle stupid to dump money into talent where the player is not worth the dollar. George Bush was the first to put A-Rod in the stratosphere and other owners joined the club except for Oakland and Cleveland. They all share revenue from the league so the little guys never lose.

The thing about Hamilton that always rubbed me wrong is that this man could not control his habit without a bunch of baby sitters. His team mated went as far as drinking ginger ale so that Junkie Josh would not see the temptations of alcohol. So how does the asshole show his thanks, he free agents to the Angels where he fell on his can before being shipped back to Texas. I'll bet the GM there is still smarting over taking Josh Boy back. That is an even dumber move than Cashman would make. And his wifes stupid remark on leaving the Rangers "They let us date other teams" Really pissed me off when the Yankees lost the '10 playoffs to that Ranger Team with Jackie Autry claiming that the Yankees were scared of Hamilton. real crock of shit.

...I've been saying it for awhile, but when it's time for a new CBA, I don't wanna hear any whining from the owners claiming they're going broke because teams like the Yanx, Rangers, Dodgers, Angels, Mariners, Red Sox, et al, who give out inane long term contracts, indicates otherwise.

...I realize that collusion is against the rules but the owners need to find a way to end the escalating contract insanity without it being ruled as collusion.

Collusion, when hearing that term reminds me when Gibson decided to leave Detroit. Lot of fuss over that before he got on with Los Angeles and that collusion was brought up on occasion. I can agree that a player may offer his services to another bidder teams also have the right to say I don't want Player ______________ on my team at that price. If a players injury is line of duty and they get paid that is one thing but in cases where player are found to abuse substances then a line should be held. Pavano is the Classic Yankee who rode the sick books and got paid, shit like that has to be curtailed.

I've been saying it for years now, Any player wants 20M per & the highest bit from any team is 10M per because NONE of the owners would go above the 10M, whats the player going to do QUIT!? No, he'd have to take the $10M. Trouble all along though has been that there's always that one team that says....."Okay we'll give you $20M" & fucks it up for everybody.

Can't say it any better than that rick but you know there will always be an asshole owner that will overpay the player.

One could see the demise of the Halos when the Singing Cowboy (sick-frail, lethargic w/his best years behind him), relinquished control to his asshole wife...who had no clue what baseball was, let alone how to negotiate with players....(yeah Jackie that was your GM's job)...

Jackie would dole out big bucks for lackluster avg players, then gave Joyner a hard time over a well deserved raise...while Wally won his arbitration in back to back years, 90 and 91....

Hamilton makes me utterly want to puke. Since when do MLB players who break all the rules more than once, deserve Amnesty for confessing their crimes, when its the 3rd or 4th offense. Geezus you'd think MLB's Cathedral's were owned and ran by the Vatican....

'bless me father for I have sinned'.... say a rosary, and you're forgiven my son....

Tom Hicks signed Arod for 10 years and 252 mil$ in 2000 - not the other idiot Bush.

Speaking of overpaid players- let's not forget Jayson Werth. He's made a name for himself flying under the radar. He was paid 20 mil $-2014, 21 mil-2015, 21 mil this year and 21 mil next year.
His avg production yearly since signing with the Nats (lol) 2011:
    16 HR, 59 RBI, .272 BA, .805 OPS, 103 K.
    prorated
    22 HR, 81 RBI, .272 BA, .805 OPS, 141 K

It'll be interesting (and humorous) to see if Tex and Arod are again more productive than him - despite their age, injuries, slumps and deterioration.:smiley-yikes:

And then we have 42 year old Ichiro Suzuki who jumped in there for a younger player, had four hits helping Donnie Baseballs Marlins come from behind to beat the Rays.

The guy was harmless with the bat in his last season with the Yanks.
    Couldn't break a window.

We all want to see the kids get a chance- but with Bird out for the season we're actually talking about Judge, Sanchez(?) and Refsnyder and Severino. Yes? No?
Gregorius and Castro aren't exactly senior citizens and they certainly haven't embarrassed themselves.
Ellsbury isn't going anywhere unless the DL.
I could be wrong but, I think Gardy has run his course- he's evolved into a very mediocre player.
He could or should've been moved in a trade or if Hicks becomes a pleasant surprise.

Headley has become a glaring weakness - at least Arod and Tex DID produce last year and gave the Yanks reason to believe they could provide some more this year.
This obviously is looking like a terrible signing by Cashman - to be honest, I thought he would be a good player for the Yanks and would flourish at bit more playing at Yankee Stadium.....no doubt we can take issue with the money or length of the contract but I certainly didn't expect him to forget how to play 3rd base last year, and forget how to hit this year.

Yanks are hurt alot by not getting anything from their 3rd baseman. He is the glaring weak link....not yet an old player and being a regular. Ouch! If he continues to stink up the place, Yanks should not go any further with him.....use Torreyes or someone else....Headley doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.
Yanks chose to deal Prado (and go with Headley) with the chance of getting a young power arm in Eovaldi who they think can turn the corner.....
This is the year he BETTER begin to show improvement ....we shall see.

We know about the bad contracts to the older players.
It's those "little moves"which may be more harmful before the dust settles this year.

This should be Cashman's ass if this team slides backwards this year.
    No more bullshit! lol

After going 4-5 last night he's put his average up to 417 on the season is now only 46 hits shy of 3000 hits for his career. BTW: he's also gone 10 for his last 13.

Ichiro has made Dee Gordon's absence a non-factor, as far as having a man on the base paths...

It's great to see Ol' Ichiro still going strong, the very best Japanese Lg., import ever to play MLB...

I'm still pissed at the M's for not giving one of the greatest of this era, his due farewell. But they'd of fkd it up, not played him, and besides, the way he's going, he might be around for awhile....?

...lol...Ichiro was actually pretty good during his last year with the Yanx...he batted .284, which was considerably better than ANY of the starters.

Saw that article on Ryan Howard definitely a ruptured duck in the flock with not much value as his former Phillie Team Mates (Rollins, Utley, Victorino) now departed. Phillies don't want him, other teams won't trade for him. If the Phillies can find an acceptable First Baseman the need to send Ryan Flyin'.

He's one of those rare players that you find yourself always rooting for. I really would have loved to see his numbers (hits) had he started his career in the ML. I think he would have shattered Rose's record.

Fortunately for the Phillies his contract runs out after this season. There is a CLUB option for next but I don't them bringing him back.
