Yeah, I hear ya - .284 is indeed a good BA ......but watching him (2014) just left me with the impression it was a very "soft" .284, even by Ichiro standards. He was striking out twice as often, had his 2nd lowest SLG,%, 3rd lowest OPS.....there were signs he was beginning to fade. He did kinda drop off the map the following year 2015 (398 AB) with the Marlins. I know how great a player he has been- tremendous athlete blessed with great baseball instincts. No doubt in my mind he could've hit at least 20 or so HRs per season if be wanted to be more of a pull hitter. Father time catches up with everyone - he's had 60 AB this year, my guess is the more he plays the less productive he'll be. He's been a real class act.
