An argument could be made that we have 3 of the best 6 players in that draft. Crazy. And we have the best player in the draft from the year before.
That draft looks a lot better than it did a couple of years ago but is still not very good. Anthony Bennett has to be the worst first draft choice in NBA history. He was recruited by Dana Altman at UO but chose UNLV over the Ducks. Phew. Don't think we missed out on that one.
If I had to rank the top 10 players in the draft: 1.) CJ McCollum 2.) Giannis Antetokounmpo 3.) Rudy Gobert 4.) Dennis Schroder 5.) Victor Olidipo 6.) Nerlens Noel 7.) Kelly Olynyk 8.) Allen Crabbe 9.) Steven Adams 10.) Mason Plumlee
Crazy to think about how the first 4 picks shouldve been a guy from Lehigh, and foreign players from Greece, France, and Germany. Kinda gives the Cavs an excuse for botching that 1st pick. Picks 10-19 have been better than picks 1-9. Don't think you can say that about any other draft.
He was a boom or bust prospect. I was one of the very few that thought Bennett would go #1. Obviously he ended up being trash but they didn't have many options. Olidipo would've been perfect for them now next to Irving but he had a ton of question marks at the time as an undersized SG that couldn't really score.
I think Giannis is going to far surpass CJ. Now that the Bucks are playing him at the point, he was KILLING it. He really is a freak of nature. I think he'll end up being the best player in that draft. Gobert is overrated, in my opinion, but he's a really good player. For me it's Giannis, CJ, and then Gobert as the top three.
And no shame in CJ being second on that. Giannis will prob be 1st... he may never do much in Milwaukee, but he is definitely the most talented (with CJ being a close 2nd).
Agreed. The only thing Adams is better at is shooting at the rim and not turning the ball over. Not even a better defender if you look at advanced stats (which I was surprised by). http://bkref.com/tiny/n1dzY
When you make a thread about a certain year's draft, maybe consider actually posting the GOD DAMNED DRAFT RESULTS!
I think it would be easy to say that the majority of head coaches would rather have Adams as their starting center before Plumlee.
No assclown. Thats the whole point of making a thread about a topic. You set it up and let people discuss. You don't randomly throw out an opinion and make people go hunt and search for shit.
