Weeks before the draft I go through about 10 possible prospects for our pick. On draft day I narrow it down to three based on who's rising/falling and likely to be there. This is the draft I put intangibles/bbiq WAY above anything else. My draft day top-3 for our #10 pick, in order: CJ McCollum Steven Adams Rudy Gobert Adams has turned into a meaner Przybilla and Gobert has turned into Mt. Mutombo. This draft is severely underrated. Certainly one of the best in the past decade.
Adams dropped because he was a bit of an unknown and was really raw at Pitt. While at Pitt he showed defensive awareness that you can't teach - an intangible that you either have or don't. Gobert dropped for two reasons - didn't play a lot of minutes with Cholet and moved like he was in wet sand laterally. But he had the same awareness that Adams has on the defensive end combined with his extremely rare size and length. Sabonis has this unteachable awareness -- on the offensive end. He's going to drop because of his lack of length. Get on it Neil!
When I made that thread he undoubtedly was terrible. A net/negative everytime he checked into the game. Thankfully he calmed down and let the game come to him.
Not to mention he said we also should trade him ASAP before the rest of the league caught on to him sucking.
