    I'm surprised this hasn't been made. not only did he help blacks achieve civil justice, he set a precedent for later protesters. He used peaceful methods rather than radical ones, and I respect him for that.

    I feel so bad I didnt make this topic. Dr. King has all my respect. I could not do a lot of things I do today if it wasnt for him. I might not have even been able to post here...Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

    umm, I don't think it's his birthday. otherwise it wouldn't always be on a monday. not sure on this. and I always thought it was on the monday closest to the day of his death. I feel bad for not knowing this.

    It is his birthday. It fell on the holiday this year.
