No surprise, but a source confirms Bulls are "definitely interested" in 76ers F Jahlil Okafor,

This would work as a trade, but I don't think Bulls will make a trade. Sad...

Mirotic is the Bulls C right now. But why hire a coach who loves the 3pt offensive schemes and then stick him with Noah and go after Okafor?

Not sure how we could get him without giving up Jimmy.

Jimmy and Mirotic for Okafor? Seems too much... Or do you want to say to give Jimmy instead Mirotic?

For a youngster, Okafor has a very slick offensive game. Although he has no long-range game and his mid-range shooting % is underwhelming (35% from 10-16'), his stroke looks good. Defensively, he pretty much sucks. This was a knock on him at Duke as well. You can't have him as your last line of defense and expect to win. Although the folks who pay attention to this stuff say that Okafor played the C position exclusively last season, many see him as a PF.

I'd rather have Okafor than Mirotic. This preference is strong enough for me to add a future 1st-rounder to sweeten the deal. That's my best and final.

Sounds ok. Noah as defensive player if he want to remain a Bull?=

I thought the Philly and Mirotic rumors was about pairing him with Okafor -- getting a big who could shoot to take pressure off Okafor in the post. I can't imagine that lineup works defensively for what it's worth.

Okafor's inside scoring complements a jump shooting team nicely. He also happens to complement a grind it out offensive team without much 3pt shooting.

Defense is on the coach. Bulls have the most elite defensive coach in the league. Oh yeah, no they don't.

I would trade for him, for sure. Defense can be learned.

What package I would send is another story. I see some fans saying Rose, Gibson and MDJ #14 and some future seconds for either Noel or Okafor. That is too much.I dont see Philly giving up assets for Rose for just 1 year. So it has to be between the two packages.

as long as they offer mirotic im all up for it cause niko:
    1: has a bad BBIQ
2: loves take stephen curry range shot's which aren't even his RANGE!!
3: unathletic and offers nothing else in his offensive game but shoot's 3's doesn't even have a post up move or anything else in his offensive arsenal
4: wildly inconsistent shooting and scoring wise which has been a pattern for him in his 2 years and i don't think that's gonna change
5: loves to flop so much tries to buy calls which half of the time he doesn't even get
6: he just makes stupid choices on the court on both ends he just isn't a very smart player

Okafor compared to niko is a better player not to mention much YOUNGER!!!!! his post up game is very very good very skilled low post scorer. also has great size which he can use to his advantage and 7"5 wingspan which helps him get rebounds and exc with his large wingspan. and is pretty good offensive rebounder very explosive when doing so. his mid range shot he struggled with though it's something he needs to get better at but he's only 20 so he can get better. in the paint he made 56.7 percent of his shot's, but when he took mid-range/corner 2's he struggled only made 34.5 percent of them he needs to improve his mid-range shot if he can improve it (which he can) he'd be good overall offensive player. he need's to also improve his free throw shooting a bit only made 68.6 percent of them. Okafor still has plenty of room to grow and develop as a player so his offensive game is far from polished

his defense he struggles but it's something he can get better in in time he's only 20 and has room to grow and improve you can learn to be a better defensive player and get better is never out of the question for any player just have to work hard

i also like noel too his offensive game needs to improve and get more polished though is a very good athlete and leaper. but if u look at his defensive game it is very polished throughout on defense. he is a very good shot blocker, excellent rebounder on both defense and offence, and most importantly he is just a great overall defender which the bulls need more of. he is a pretty descent post player, like okafor his mid-range shot he struggles with but like i said that can improve that down the road. i really like the bulls to go after noel more ( i like okafor too though) he is a already polished defensive player and if he can improve offensive game (which i think he can) he would be a even better player both ways on defense and offence. i like both players i think they both have great potential cause both are very young hopefully the bulls can pick one of these guys up

    Welcome HFL.

While Okafor is certainly young and I agree that defense can be learned, it seems to me that most offense-minded young poor defenders become older offensive-minded poor defenders. I don't believe that Okafor's defensive shortcomings should be ignored.
