Definently. His jumper is weak. Absolutely weak. Stats prove it. Everytime I watch him, his jumper is not falling. All he can do is drive and when is allowed to be guarded fairly (kobe in the 2nd half) he has nothing. He is forced to drive, throw some retarded lay up or pass it to an open teamate and get the ball stolen. I swear when mj said wade in the handcheck era would be just another player is not looking silly anymore.

He has a weak shot but he also makes very few mistakes, which is a big part of fundementals
He has some holes in his offensive game, but that doesn't me he's fundamentally weak. Would he be this good 15 years ago? No. But he is much more than just driving to the basket. His confidence and leadership is off the charts.
Wades not super weak, his jump shot has some flaws and at the same time when he gets on he's on. But other then that I would build a team aroound Wade....he has leadership, can get to the basketball off the dribble, makes and 1s all the time.

I'd take him just for that.
Wade might have a weak jumper, but with that said I don't think he's fundamentally weak, he rarely makes mistakes, I think he can always improve his jumper and it is getting better every year. I think besides for his jumper he's a pretty fundamentally sound player not the best but not the worst.
Not sure why everyone is saying he rarely makes mistakes when he's 2nd in the league in Turnovers per game at 4.2. He isnt the greatest shooter either. Shoots 27% from 3 point land and 48 from the field. Most of his 2 point field goals are dunks, layups, and in the paint. No one has mentioned that he also doesn't play the greatest defense either. Can get beat off the drive, doesn't block out, and can be shot rather easily. In saying all that, he still is a top 5 or 10 player in the league. He is an athlete who can make up his mental mistakes with his super athletic ability. He gets the benifit of the doubt with refs as Rok mentioned, and is a good leader and clutch player.
With the help of Stern Wade can be the next Michael Jordan. Stern needs to raise him another level or 2 with the no touch Wade rule.
just because he doesn't have a great outside shot doesn't make him fundamentally weak. tim duncan can't hit free throws and no one's guarding him, does that mean he's fundamentally weak? hell no. you're only saying that because you're a laker fan and you have kobe bryant. we all know wade isn't a great outside shooter but damn he's only been in the league for 4 seasons. wade makes good plays and gets to the basket whenever he wants. he can pass and he's a good defender as well. he's not fundamentally weak tho at all.
Fundamentally, Wade is not a weak player what so ever. Shooting doesn't make a player fundamentally sound. He might not be the greatest shooter in the league, but he knows that, and that is why he drives to the basket so much...and he is one of the best in the league at getting to the rim, drawing contact, and finishing(even though he gets a little bit too many calls, you cant blame him for it). His footwork for a guard is also very good. During the summer games, when I would watch him play, his footwork and shotfakes amazed me. If you are basing his "fundamentals" off of shooting perimeter jumpers, then I guess he has bad fundamentals, but thats not what makes up a "fundamental" player IMO.
Give me a fu*king break. Wade is not weak fundementally. The only thing anyone has on him fundementally is his jumpshot isn't great. But he proved last year in playoffs that when forced to take it he can hit it with regularity. Taking the set jumpers and shots off the glass from midrange is much more fundementally sound than a fadeaway 3 by Kobe or LeBron. Look outside the shooting. He is an amazing ballhandler and playmaker. He can beat ANYONE off the dribble, and is very smart is how he does it. He is one of the best decision makers in the league. He is the best off the ball offensive swingman by FAR in the league. Would he be as good in the handcheck era? No, but AI showed in the handcheck era that guards who go at rim at full force most of the time can get their points. Wade is a much bigger body and more athletic, and also better decision maker than AI used to be, so I am sure he wouldn't shoot the 39% or so AI used to shoot.
the only thing d-wade hasnt got down is his jumper. other dan dat hes not fundamentally weak. away from the stats tho, he gets along great with his teammates and coaches, which helps define a great player.
I have no idea wtf you're talking about LakersFan. You always say all these things about Wade (Refs love him, D-Foul, Fundamentally weak...). Really, what makes you think Kobe Bryant is any different. Really, Wade and Kobe are similar players, just Wade is way more likable.
Wade is not fundamentally weak. The only thing he is weak at is his jumper, and that doesn't really make him fundamentally weak.
Not being a homer here at all. But, I think Wade is just adjesting to being without Shaq. I think he will get out of his slump. Just may take some time.
Thank you. I agree- he does anything to get a foul call. He would get injured so much in street ball probably.. (at the same time own people on offense when he nails his shots..)
I'm sick of hearing how wade gets all these calls like he's the only player who does. lebron travels all the time and carries the ball, kobe even carries the ball sometimes and gilbert arenas too who also gets a significant amount of foul calls. just because they get a lot of foul calls doesn't mean that they always get calls. officials make mistakes, they're human.
