How would his future have panned out?-------------------------------------------------April 1, 2003AKRON, Oh. -- High school sensation LeBron James has finally made the decision everyone has been waiting for.James, a 6' 8'' senior at St. Vincent-St. Mary high school in Akron, Ohio, is widely regarded as the nation's top basketball prospect. ESPN2 has televised several of his high school basketball games, and his dazzling style and raw talent has captivated the nation. But one question remained: Where is LeBron James going to play college basketball? Early this morning, he answered this question when he verbally committed to Maryland."This is the most important decision of my life so far," said James at a press conference this morning. "I wanted to make the decision that least hindered the advancement of my basketball career. I considered many options, but decided that it is in my best interest to play basketball at Maryland."Maryland head coach Gary Williams was pleased with James's decision. "We are very pleased that LeBron will be playing basketball here in College Park. The young man had a difficult decision to make, but I thought we put the most on the table. So I can't say I'm all that surprised that he chose us."Asked if James would start as a freshman, Williams replied, "LeBron James will have the same opportunity to earn a starting role as any other player. He's an exceptional young man, and I'm sure he'll be up to the challenge."http://www.aerojockey.com/news/lebron.htmlOf course this was all total BS from him and he went to the NBA...but if the high school rule was in place that year...how do you think Lebron would of done in college?Would he have been dominant like he was in high school?

He would have dominated college like no other player in recent memory. Nobody would be able to guard him, he would probably average around 30ppg and just just blow everyone away. If he stayed in college all four years...he would probably have been one of the top 10 college players to ever play.

He would have killed people in college. Look at what he's doing in the NBA and these are grown men. Lebron, weither you like him or not, has talent and can ball his ass off. He's probably, when it's all said and done, gonna be one of the best to every touch a spalding basketball. Your lying to yourself if you say he's not good.

not only would his career be a lot different, but the image of the nba would be a lot different. LeBron along with many others have shifted the gears of the nba to a younger, faster game. now younger players are dominating.

Well, college would be alot more popular than it is, but the pro's would definitely take a hit. Since Lebron has come in the game, there has been so much comparison to MJ, and how many rings everyone things Lebron is going to get, and the battle between who is better between him and Wade. If Lebron wasnt in the league, what would we be discussing? If Wade was better than Carmelo? It just isnt the same. Lebron would have absolutley dominated college ball. Look at Durant right now, and imagine a player even better. Durant has had a few games over 30 points this year...Lebron would be doing that almost every game IMO.

lebron was a 21-5-5 player as a rookie. In college he'd probably do the same thing scoringwise, as he wouldn't have the NBA competition to improve him and the college games are shorter. In terms on rebounding, he'd probably average 12 rpg because he's the size of a college center and 10 apg because he'd be doubled so much. So yeah, I think he'd be putting up 21-12-10 in his freshman year. Sophomore, junior, and senior years he'd be doing maravich numbers, as well as winning championships because all the prospects would wanna come play with lebron

Lebron probably wouldnt get more than 30 a night. If Lebron was at the collegiate level, his team would be blowing out the opposition almost every night. Therefore, he would be taken out of alot of games early to avoid risking further injury. That is sometimes why Durant doesn't score that much. In closer games, that is when he really goes off. Lebron has the skill to obviously get 35-40 a night at the college level, but I dont think his playing time would permit it. Now I do think that he would have nights where he would put up 40 points, but he wouldnt average 35-40 IMO.
