Although Joe "quick hook" Girardi pisses me off with his pitching changing that's far from being the only thing that's wrong with this club. Take a look........... PITCHING.......(Unnecessary quick hook) 5/31 Sabathia = 6IP, 1 run, 5 hits, only 80 pitches 5/26 Sabathia = 7IP, 2 runs, 2 hits, only 83 pitches 5/19 Nova = 6IP, 1 run, 4 hits only 62 pitches 5/18 Eovaldi = 6 IP, 1 run, 1 hit, only 85 pitches 5/14 Nova = 5.2 IP, 1 run, 4 hits, only 74 pitches Bottom line IMO, just because you have Betances, Miller & Chapman doesn't mean you have to use them every fucking game. That is unless you want to burn out your bullpen by July. Okay, I'll get off Girardi. Lets look at this anemic offense............... OFFENSE........... Gardner = 2 for his last 30 seeing his average go from 248 to a dismal 215 For May he's hitting 184 McCann = 4 for his last 39 seeing his average go from 276 to a pathetic 229. For May he's hitting 203 Castro = 3 for his last 33 seeing his average go from 277 to 245. Hitting 200 in May. Hicks = 3 for his last 25 A-Rod = 1 for his last 19 with 9 strikeouts & is only hitting 170 on the season & 159 in May. Teixeira is 3 for his last 34, hasn't hit a HR since April 13th (38 games) & has only 5 RBI since April 8th. Hit 130 for the month of May. So to be fair, Girardi is far from the only problem with this club & until this team has a complete over haul I don't see this version of the BRONX BOMBERS going anywhere.
Can you believe all the other numbers? No wonder why this team sucks so bad. Aside from Ellsbury, Headley & perhaps DiDi, no one is hitting.
I REFUSE TO GIVE UP HOPE THAT THIS TEAM WILL BOUNCE BACK. Now let me go order 20 gallons of Kool Aide.
Strike Shortened Season but the '81 Yankees shortened many a starters game o six innings using Gossage & Davis as fillers. Worked well until the World Series and inserting Frazier in there as well.
The performance at the plate of some of these guys is too poor to be believed. Tex .190 3hrs 12 RBIs Gardner .215 5hrs 12 RBIs Arod .170 6hrs 14 RBIs Headley .236 3hrs 11 RBIs That's your 1B, LF, DH and 3B hitting a combined .203 with 17hrs and 49RBIs. That's completely ridiculous. Also, consider that David Ortiz by himself is sitting at .335 14 hrs and 47 RBIs.
^^^Beltran is on target to lead the Yanx with 98 RBIs...next is Castro and MCCann 66. ...conversely the Sox have 4 players who are on target to end up with well over 100 RBIs... Ortiz with nearly 159 and Betts with over 125.
