^^^That's a great one Ron, one of my other favorites that he tells which I can't locate is the Yogi Berra + Phil Linz + Harmonica story from 1964.
Good stuff. The Mantle story is a an old classic...really quite a tale - Brett is a character, hilarious as he abruptly asks who's pitching tonight right after his story. Remember his classic replies about his WS hemorroid problem: "Its behind me now" and "yep, now I'm a complete asshole". lol Mantle and Brett were both self deprecating regular guys who happened to be superstars. Bless 'em both.
Brett is great because the guys are clearly uncomfortable and trying to get away from him. He keeps following and continuing with his story.
...I thought he was just messing with those 2 players he was telling the story to...I kept waiting for the punch line that never came.
geez, that's a helluva lot of pants shitting George, .... I had no clue... I think he's stretching a St. Patty's Green Beer all nighter story; (next morn) shit fest story, don't drink Green Beer...
Pure Class.... the World is a lesser place without "The Mick".... loved his bios, and every story he ever told, .... 1st time I read/heard this true story was in his bio "#7 - The Mick"; and spent weeks re-telling it to other MLB Fans who had never heard this Classic true Story....a real fall out of the chair story if there ever was one....My fav Mick story....no doubt...!
