    ...MB, for those who are younger than us and who never experienced the 60's it's hard to convey the mania that existed and the world changing events that occurred during that decade.

    ...for much of the 60's it seemed the whole world was on fire.

    He was by far (in his prime) the best fighter I ever saw.

    ...aside from having the best left jab ever, as well as a formidable right hand, Ali was also one of the best I ever saw at slipping punches...he was also one of the very best at being able to take a punch. I saw him stand there and take some unbelievable shots that would have either knocked down or knocked out most other fighters.

    "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"....

    I'll never forget those words in the late 60s, in a boxing gym, while getting my face pummeled....guess the other guys stung like hornets, and floated like Aladdin....

    Ali's 60s-70s fights, Frazier, Foreman, et al, were the best ever....

    ntm- the Cossell/Ali pre- and post-fight interviews were Classics...RIP great one...
