He's got a name. Texas Turncoat.

Call that MF TT for short.

Yeah, it does. But our team is beginning anew with Olshey, Stotts, Dame and company. We are in a good place with a solid core. :)

We'll see who we can land during FA and possibly acquire a draft pick. These are exciting times with our Blazers, buddy!

Maybe they can send @HCP Jr. to ask him for his autograph.

John Wall Giving Kevin Durant Space Ahead Of Free Agency

The Washington Wizards have been planning to pursue Kevin Durant for several seasons but they missed out on the playoffs and took a step backwards in 15-16.

The Wizards had been considered a potential destination for Durant as his hometown and with their core of Wall and Bradley Beal.

Wall and Durant have formed a good friendship over the years and he's been outspoken about wanting to play with him.

"If he comes, he comes, if not, got to make other plans," Wall said. "But that’s something I haven’t talked to him about. I’m not willing to right now. He just came off a tough series. I’m trying to give him a couple of weeks, a month off, to think about what he wants to do."

The Wizards also hired Scott Brooks as head coach, who worked with Durant for several seasons with the Thunder.

I don't think he is going to Washington. Boston seem the most likely destination IMO if he leaves Oklahoma which I don't think he will.

Olshey could sel Portland to him but it will be tricky. Will we have enough cash to still get a center like Mahinmi if we give Durant a max deal and he accepts?

If he is truly good friends with Wall like this article suggests.....A Wall, Beal, Durant, Gortat. Markeif Morris is not a bad starting line up..........if he gets along with Morris. And if he liked Scotty Brooks as a coach.

I doubt he is coming here, so i am kind of rooting he goes home to Washington.

Yeah that's definitely a very good line up and immediate East Championship contenders. I like Gortat, think he could have achieved more but he will probably remain the best ever Polish player for a good while (not sure any Pole will get drafted for a while).

    Double :) :)

However, if Durant is considering the Lakers or GS or San Antonio, triple :( :( :(

If Durant doesn't stay in OKC or demand to play for the Blazers, I hope he goes to DC.

Personally I think he will go to San Antonio or stay in OKC. Honestly, he might be a much better fit in Portland than GS. GS has a good system, but they have a ton of shooters. If I am Durant, I would worry about messing with that chemistry, and not really having all that well defined of a role. Too many cooks, etc.

I agree. My spidey senses are telling me San Antonio is a front runner. SA-OKC-DC in that order.

99% sure he's gonna go back to OKC.

They were a quarter away from a title. KD is smart enough to realize how close he is and how much effort it takes for a new team to get there.

You know, if someone re-tweets this, it would technically, under current interwebs rules of conduct, qualify as a rumor? LOL

A few in depth thoughts on the KD scenario

-I just don't see Durant in San Antonio. His play style doesn't seem to fit what they do, and they'd have to clear some contracts and have Manu and Duncan retire just to sign him. And I'm not sure Durant wants to play SG, which is where he'd be put.

-I could see him leaving because of Westbrook and him not playing well off each other, or because KD thinks Russell deserves to lead his own team, and knows Russell will leave if he stays in OKC because Russell wants to be an alpha dog, wherever it may be.

-Durant may not appreciate the culture in OKC, which IMO stems from Westbrook being a poor leader. KD may want to go somewhere where it'd be FUN to play basketball again.

-OKC is probably he worst place to live in the NBA. Portland will be an upgrade.

-Durant doesn't seen like the type of person to try to piggyback his way to a ring ala Lamarcus Aldridge. He wants to earn it with a team and system that fits him better. That takes out Golden State and the Spurs IMO.

-Durant won't put big city appeal over everything else. So get rid of the Knicks and Lakers as contenders for him. He wants to win in a good culture. Not lose in a bad culture.

-Stein says he won't consider the Rockets. Why? See above.

-The Cavs and Clippers won't have the cap space

-The Raptors won't have the cap space if they resign Derozen. And if Derozen leaves, the have no appeal.

-Durant won't want to follow Lebron by going to Miami to try to win a ring. He'll consider them, but Wade is getting old, Whiteside will have to leave for them to have the cap space, and Bosh may never play again. That leaves then on the outside looking in.

-He'd be great in Portland's system. Stotts will be in that meeting and I think Durant will like the ideas Stotts has for him.

-Durant loves making hip hop beats. That could have a little pull in regards to what Dame and him could do off the court with music. The marketability of those 2 as a duo on and off the court would be tantalizing. I think Durant could realize that.

-The Nike headquarters being here, that may have a little but of pull for KD from a business sense.. Maybe not.

-KD would likely become the most heavily endorsed Nike athlete in the NBA if he signed here. Having the most heavily endorsed Adidas and Nike athlete on a small market team like Portland. That'd be interesting.

-Boston has a very real chance but they already have a great legacy (I think KD would rather build one) as well as a team that isn't set up as well as Portland. If they trade for a superstar things change, but would something like Cousins/Thomas be better than Lillard/McCollum? Especially when we could still have the flexibility to sign someone like Whiteside as well?

Given this, I think the top 3 teams for KD will be Washington, Portland, and Boston. I can easily see KD signing here, shocking the league because writers and experts refused to acknowledge we had a chance, with KD enjoying the fact that he shocked everyone and changed the free agent narrative for years to come.

So yes, I think we have a chance.

Look at all the in depth thought in my post and compare that to all of the thought you put into yours.

And you wanna talk about other peoples thoughts when you put no thought into your posts...

    Cmon now
